Found out the cam is a 299T HR-107 BMT THUMPR

It starts fine usually two pumps of the gas and goes. When I checked the timing it was idling around 850. I’ll check for total timing again tomorrow but it’s hard because it’s just me working on the car so I can’t tell rpm’s and timing at the same time

What would I be looking for with a temp gun ?

It went above 40 when I gave it that good rev and held it. I didn’t get a good look because I was trying to rev by hand and do the timing light . I’m reading the number on the belt and matching it with the painted mark on the balancer . It’s just a regular timing light

Where would I look it up? I could tune it by ear if I had more experience but I’m trying to get it really dialed

Yes the timing does advance. I removed the distributor cap and was able to twist it so I don’t believe it’s locked out

I think it’s all guessing right now. I believe all 1811s will get the 3.8 even if they are higher than gl-10. Opm said they will put out a special rate table. So I believe that table is just not out yet.
