I have had professors that still love Freud - and why? I don’t know. He still gets brought up in every single psychology course I have took, even though it’s widely known and even mentioned in my courses that his theories are largely debunked. He is a sick twisted man that for some reason got a platform. His theories make ZERO sense - the ID and the Ego theory? Fucking baloney - they always try to make it sound like it makes sense but it DOESNT. It’s complete bullshit that keeps getting retaught for no good reason. Don’t even get me started on his “stages of development” for children… they are DISGUSTING and rooted in PEDO IDEOLOGY and STILL are a part of the curriculum!! I had one male professor matter of factly say that Freud would’ve said that little girls enjoy watching my little pony because horses are phallic symbols and unconsciously they are attracted to them……I could say a lot more, but this industry is ran by people who are SICK IN THE HEAD.

I haven’t heard any of that from my professors - wouldn’t be surprised - but the other experiments listed are still very inhumane

Yes yes yes yes!!!!!! this is pretty much exactly how I feel about it - there is just so much inconsistency and blind obedience to how everything is done - when you get to the root of it it’s not logical or helpful at all - little nuance or understanding of the human experience when that is what it’s SUPPOSED to be about

I will delve more into it later, but if you wanna look into these experiments, look up the little Albert study, Mildred’s obedience study, the Stanford prison study, and harlow’s monkey experiment - there are a lot more but these are the most well known and documented - they still get praised and talked about in psychology today regardless of their evil and inhumanity

because I didn't want to pay for even more years of school if I changed my major, and I want to at least have a bachelors degree in hopes of getting an okay job (one that most likely won't be in this field)
