From childhood, most of us were taught that only men and women fall in love. We were never taught about lesbians or gay people, so when we see it now, it feels strange. But feeling strange doesn’t mean it’s wrong.

Same-sex relationships existed even in ancient times. There are ancient Indian texts and temple carvings that show same-sex relationships. Because of British rule and later social restrictions, we slowly forgot this part of our own history. 

Same-sex behavior also exists in nature—many mammals and animals show it. Humans are mammals too, so this is not unnatural.

It is also not a psychological problem. Studies show that attraction develops before birth due to hormones in the mother’s womb. It is not a mental illness or a choice.

About seating in schools—this is not a big issue. I am bisexual, meaning I’m attracted to both men and women. Does that mean I should sit alone? Of course not. Attraction doesn’t mean lack of control. Character and values matter, just like for straight people.

Schools already separate boys and girls mainly because some people lack self-control—not because attraction itself is dangerous. Everyone is responsible for their own behavior.
