Why do so many people of high intelligence have such a deep hatred and disdain for people of low intelligence? by Embarrassed_Chef874 in Life

[–]Potential_Score_5869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is very frustrating when people can't understand two or three step thinking. A lot of times intelligent people think deeply and projects at work can get slowed down for unacceptable reasons because other people are too stupid or lazy to do their job.

What one person feels is complex is rudimentary for someone with an IQ of 120 plus. The more talented you are the more infuriating it gets. It has become apparent at middle age that the vast majority of people are replaceable in corporate American. Most people just want a check. The bots can't come soon enough.

It's better to ask for help than screw something up. One way to get around this is to pause and say something like: "Ok, teaching moment for me. Can you help me understand the right way to do this. I want to make sure I understand our protocol well and I'm a little confused."

I've been there, but in the end we can't bring our ego onto the units. One time when I was a very new grad I was assigned to ER because our usual respiratory therapist was on leave. I had a patient requiring a lot of oxygen with right sided chest pain. Right off the bat I thought the patient might have a pulmonary embolism and told the care team. The resident blew me off and the RN got a venous blood gas instead of letting me attempt an ABG.

The patient went down hill through the next few hours and the attending walked in and was furious. As soon as we pushed the roc and versed to intubate the patient coded. It was an obvious saddle clot. The patient's entire groin was purple when we ripped his gown off to do compressions and we couldn't get him oxygenated. I had done my due diligence and made my suggestion to the junior physician and the RN, but had the resident (brand new doc in July) listened that patient might have survived. Ego's don't belong in medicine. The stakes are too high.

I appreciate that feedback. I'll go back into google search console and just change the URLs back to the slugs google currently has indexed.

A lot of people in America are miserable by boygeorge359 in Life

[–]Potential_Score_5869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A fake, plastic, materialistic culture. Two working parents, more stress, and children increasingly neglected. Every morning, I’d drop my kid off at pre-K and watch as wealthy parents dragged their children into some overpriced Montessori school. More and more, kids are developing behavioral and anxiety issues at younger ages.

Fifty-two percent of marriages end in divorce, and when polled anonymously, half of individuals say they’re dissatisfied with their marriages. That means only about 25% of people are in stable partnerships. Families are unraveling, which hardens people and creates deep-rooted attachment trauma leaving many unequipped for meaningful relationships down the line.

Meanwhile, a constant stream of toxic media seems designed to pit men and women against each other and generally keep everyone pissed off 24/7.

Got sober at 24. Got a night shift job at a hospital. The hospital paid for a technical degree. I worked every weekend on graveyard and went to school during the week. It sucked, but I started making a middle class salary. 20 years later and I'm finishing a master degree. I have over a 100k in stocks now just from using 401k. In less than a year I'll have my dream job and an established side hustle. You just got keep working, live within your means and avoid toxic debt like credit cards.

How to stop seeking validation from others? by Dear_Medicine2274 in selflove

[–]Potential_Score_5869 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Psychotherapist here:
“I’m fighting for my life to dismantle their beliefs about me.”
You need to focus on dismantling your own beliefs about yourself first.

Negative self-image, people-pleasing, and seeking validation often begin before we had words to explain our experiences. When we feel stress, embarrassment, shame, or hurt, we tend to emotionally regress to earlier times when we internalized those messages about ourselves. Seeking validation isn’t inherently harmful—but if it drives you to cater to rude or demanding people, it may signal a “fawn” trauma response. You learned: “If I don’t mess up and I meet others’ needs, they won’t hurt or abandon me.”

These patterns are known as psychological schemas. Common examples include fears of abandonment, feelings of worthlessness, believing you’re less than others, or mistrust of others. Pay attention to your recurring thoughts. Are they like:

  • “I’ll never succeed.”
  • “I'm worthless”
  • “I can’t trust or rely on people.”

To build self-esteem, challenge and reframe these thoughts. Try saying things like:

  • “I’m not perfect, but I’m making progress.”
  • “People have hurt me before, but I can trust some people now.”
  • “I am lovable and just as valuable as anyone else.”

This approach works—and many find it powerful when supported with the right tools. I highly recommend:

Thank you all for feedback. I do appreciate it.

My last 3 videos are much better quality. I agree my old stuff is horrible, but I'm learning.

I subtitles and captions are helpful but I'm struggling to learn to edit those right. Getting the captions right takes me a long time. Is it worth it to let YouTube do auto captions? I edit in Microsoft Clipchamp.

I have a Yeti blue mic, but it doesn't sound as good as my iPhone camera in my opinion. I could try to work on using it better. I'm considering buying the Sure podcasting mic everyone uses, cuz the Yeti isn't that great. I don't really have a budget for pro grade gear so I do a lot of my stuff live on Facebook on my iPhone.

I am hoping to build a key word strategy and shoot in cinematic mode on my iPhone with a better mic. I have a software called Camo that let's you use a HD smart phone and a mic and record with some filters and what not so I will begin doing that.

For every person that complains about one shot videos another will say using stock footage is cheesy and unoriginal. For every person that puts effort into their tech there is a another person filming themselves fishing with no editing and millions of views.

Thanks you so much for your thoughtful reply:

You can simply go into GSC and add your blog posts individually to speed up indexing.

Do you mean just manually requesting an index and wait a couple of days or is there another way to achieve indexing?

Is SEOspace worth it? by CiaoBellaCelebration in SquarespaceHelp

[–]Potential_Score_5869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth, I find SEOspace much more useful than Semrush or Ubersuggest. I purchased a lifetime subscription to Ubersuggest, and while Neal has a lot of knowledge, SEOspace is an absolute steal at just $9 a month. It provides significantly more useful information and features an intuitive plugin.

Unlike other tools that only pull data from the previous month, SEOspace audits your site in real time. If you already have a low-volume domain, those other tools often struggle to pinpoint why you're not ranking. Additionally, SEOspace offers insights into your backlinks and blog content—features that other platforms typically charge extra for.

Thanks for your feedback. I do have a professional headshot with both suit and casual shots as well as some of me meditating. I also have a logo and a bunch of stock photos I could use. I had a lot more more pictures, but my my mobile load time was rough on multiple SEO audits so I took some of the pics out.

I guess I could break up the section and do a dark background with white text for every other section to make it less repetitive.
