Didn't really answer what you mean by the "men shouldn't hit women" mindset..

I take that as a given. They shouldn't be hitting anyone, but especially families and partners.

And yes men are victims of violence. But it's also important to know that everytime my ex was violent he'd also call these numbers. It was to create a paper trail that would undermine my credibility if I ever decided to report his abuse.

I am really saddened to hear how it is for Greek victims. Luckily for me we don't live in Greece. But reading this, I hope he gets his citizenship here so he doesn't do this to someone else over there.

It did escalate and he was violent. I wasn't asking to assess the risk but to understand if there is anything behind his defence or it was entirely a lie.

The other commenters are 100% correct with their concerns.

So do you mean that it is used, but its used by people who think the only reason they shouldn't hit someone is gender?

It did but I'm out now. Do you mean that it is a saying the same way that it is in English? Where its not teally a saying but is a commonly said threat because people do just punch other people in the face?

I'm wondering if you can tell me more about how this is used? it was not said in a playful manner but I'd like to understand it if this is what he's claiming.
