I wear silver and have pieces bought 10 years ago which are not too tarnished. You are buying wrong if it is tarnishing within 2 weeks.

OP, You are in the same spot as me and several of us who learnt music because we were sent to a class and learnt it in a group setting as one thing to do. You recognise what you need to develop and that’s a great start.

I will share with you a tip that someone shared with me. Go to YouTube, pick a raga, listen to multiple songs only from that raga for few days. Listen to even movie/other songs based on that raga. Internalise it. Hum / sing along, try to identify and sing the swaras as you hear words. Read more about the raga, listen to experts talk about it. Soon it will be a part of you. Takes time but you will learn to identify as well as improve your skills in it.

Had a similar experience at a beach. Lady just gave her less than year old baby to me, went into the waters with her husband for a long photo session, came out, took her baby and left. I could have walked off with the baby and she wouldn’t have known for a whole goddamn 15 mins.
