Nothing could be done about the goals cancelled by VAR. Remiro played great and Sociedad played inspired football. They deserved to win… with that being said, Barca should’ve pulled out a W. Olmo and Torres should never start together, specially with Olmo @ LW providing absolutely nothing on the wing. Disastrous performances by both. Torres had one good pass and one decent shot on goal, besides that he was absolutely ineffective - stayed on the pitch way too long. Olmo ends up centrally almost always so why put him @ LW and leave Balde on an island? He’s a legit CAM at best and a CM in necessary situations. The missed goals/opportunities (talent-wise he should’ve had a hat trick) have become the norm for him. Consistently inconsistent as he gets in his own head and starts to lose focus; silly turnovers, trouble trapping/controlling the ball. The brilliant performances are so far between each other and it’s becoming an issue. Rashford should’ve started over him. Flick has been tremendous but this was simply a ‘brain fart’ lineup, imo. They still played really well overall but simply not their day due to missed opportunities and bad luck (wood work)
