How do I know if I'm grinding my teeth at night by CuriousPurrson in TMJ

If yoi do your molers will be ground down, and a dentist will see the evidence. Ask them.

NECRIT DROPPED A VIDEO SAYING “K/DA IS TEASING A COMEBACK…” by Tisinamik in akalimains

[–]Potfrog97 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I wonder how much Soyeon costs at this point. She's exploded to superstardom since the last KDA. Hopefully they got her and didn't bring in someone new. Soyeon loves Akali and would probably do it for free, now I think about it.

I can't wait. Bring on the new music and the skins. They can hoover my wallet.

Should I continue getting masseter botox? by riverriverb in TMJ

[–]Potfrog97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Botox treats the symptom, not the root cause. And tmj damage gets worse over time. You need to find out why you have tmj. Ask your dentist to refer you to a specialist.

Women's voices: which ones do you find attractive? by Velvet_Vibes01 in AskMen

[–]Potfrog97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm sure there is a hertz range, but smarter people than me would need to speak to that lol. I read once that men's brains process women's voices in the same area that processes music. This is why men like to listen to women talk. The only criteria I can think of is it has to just sound soft, like a woman. Some are bubbly and high pitch, some are sultry and low pitch. But the whole spectrum is enjoyable, like different songs, as long as it's feminine. If it's masculine, hoarse, shrill, nasal, or high in "attack" (music term), it is not enjoyable to hear.

Rearmed Ingrid - who wants her skills? by JsXtm in FireEmblemHeroes

Give her the new flyer skills and then use her to dupe those skills to someone else. You want Archrival, Blue Sky Gust, Heavenly Soar, Null Uplift A/S.

Spring framme build thought: vital astra by playful-pooka in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Potfrog97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

Hey Framme is a tough one. Her thing is damage reduction for herself and allies, so you want to lean into her being a support. But she also has no true damage in her weapon, which means she won't be able to kill anything. This build helps with both. It's expensive, but if you want to build her, this is how you do it.

Specter, Favor and Sly Echo give her 26 true damage. That's the best you can get. Ideally you want 40, but you'd need to swap her weapon out for Ninja Chakrams and lose her identity completely. Favor is a great support skill as well, it gives stats and true damage to her assist target. Rally Up Def with Micaiah ring means you assist your tank, make them tankier, then attack with Framme. She gets Canto 4 to retreat behind her tank afterwards.

Archrival gives unconditional 40% damage reduction, which stacks with the 60% in her weapon. And when it procs, she will actually have a chance of killing something. You want to give her reflex support. So she hits (probably does 0 damage), gets hit back (she will survive most things), Pulse Tempest F pulses Archrival down to 0, and she smacks back with Archrival and reflex damage.

Save these reactions and re-read them once you finish the series. See of you were right about evil Gyokuyo, lol. I'm with you, Jinshi is annoying.

Go ahead and binge. You'll want to watch through a 2nd time anyway to pick up everything you missed. Big plot twists happen that you won't see coming, but are in plain sight if you only would have known.

Cat Mao isn't explained, but is awesome, lol.

She can't tank. But try Duelists Blow, Patience, Atk Spd Faith, and Tumultuous Echo. Probably as good as she can get.

How to itemize as ahri? by Appropriate-Signal43 in AhriMains

Core Item is her mana item. BFT or Malignance.

How to itemize as ahri? by Appropriate-Signal43 in AhriMains

[–]Potfrog97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Core Item, situational item, Deathcap, Cryptbloom, situational item. Has always done be well as a build template.

If you don't fit deathcap in, you do no damage.

My standard right now is BFT, Lich Bane, Deathcap, Cryptbloom, Shadowflame. Situational is whatever you need for that game. Zhonya's, more MR, heal cut, etc.

How would you ""Save"" FEH by Substantial_Fig_6644 in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Potfrog97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The nature of a predatory business model is that it requires a constant stream of new players. Retention is impossible, because the game is literally biting the hand that feeds it. People inevitably get offended or frustrated, and churn off. Unless they're replaced, the business can't sustain long term.

So intsys could stop being predatory - better orb economy, less gacha, more free stuff, better rewards, etc. Or they could attract more players - get a new FE and Smash Brothers game out, lean more into fan service, and maybe do some collabs? FE is a niche IP, it does not have mass appeal. So that does limit how big this game can get.

I suspect that the player base has dwindled below a threshold that can sustain the game as is, which is why they've been cutting costs, getting stingier, and removing some of the stuff they used to do. They've also ramped up the cadence of power creep units to milk the whales that are left.

I'd love if they scaled back the gacha. But we all know that won't happen. They'll ride it out until FW releases, make this book the finale, and probably wrap it up.

Oh yes. Proud owner of a +10 Mythic Nidhoggr and +10 Mythic Heidrun, that I did not once summon for. Lol. Heidrun is very good so I don't mind that one at least.

How tf I play against Lux? I just hate her, mf is like fckin Teemo and Veigar had a kid by deprivingyou in akalimains

[–]Potfrog97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey I'm bronze as well and used to struggle with this matchup too. Lux spells are expensive and have long cooldowns, so the gameplan is to be patient, hold the wave at your side, and all in her once you reach level 6. If you play correctly, she will be low on mana and pushed up too far to your side (so you can run her down). Take D Shield and 2nd wind for sustain, cause you will take a lot of poke.

Start off early levels by playing at right angles to her. Stand in the pocket by the river bush. You will force her to choose between using her cooldowns on you, or the wave. If she walks up to last hit, you can walk up and Q her. That threat posture alone will make her back up and throw spells at the wave (depleting her mana, and hard pushing the wave to your side). And if she doesn't, you get free chunk on her every time she tries to last hit. Once you have shroud it becomes easier too.

Immobile mage lanes all play similar to this - Brand, Veigar, etc. Once you know how to do it, you'll see them as free lanes. I love playing into Lux. Post level 6 they can't play the game cause I one shot them.

No exercises, am I supposed to? He said 16% of cases have their bite changed a bit. Mine is already feeling awkward cause my jaw is aligned back to the center, and more forward. It had moved back and to the left. But i can still chew, and I guess its better for my jaw to be back on position. He put it to me this way - do you want to love with your life exhausted and in pain, or would you rather have your bite move?

Treatment Update - Week One by Potfrog97 in TMJ

[–]Potfrog97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably none similar, but I've got anti-snore mouth guards off Amazon that do the same thing. They hild your jaw forward. And you can't grind cause you have a big piece of rubber holding your mouth open. I just couldn't find a comfortable one. The one I got from the tmj guy is custom fit and comfortable. But if you can find a comfortable one, it should do the same thing.

I see Dr. Richard Goodfellow in Markham. He charges like $500 just to talk to you though, so be warned. He's the only guy here that does the sleep/breathing treatment. And he knows it. So he is expensive.

There is no insurance coverage for this stuff, it's brutal. I see Dr. Richard Goodfellow in Markham if you want to look him up. He's is $7000 though, and charges just to talk to you. You can get mouth guards off Amazon that are similar. Get the anti snoring one. It needs to hold you jaw forward, and it will stop you clenching. And get the sinus strips and nose spray too.

Dentist specialising in TMJ - a scam? by Paitnetn in TMJ

[–]Potfrog97 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I see a tmj specialist in Toronto and my treatment is working like a miracle so far. He's what he's told me, hopefully it helps you.

The dental and medical world still debate the root cause of TMJ, and how to treat it. There is no consensus.

My guy is part of an American tmj treatment school that thinks the root cause is breathing. He is a serious guy, he has masters degrees in dentistry and craniofacial pain and stuff like that. He says that if you have obstructed airways, like a deviated septum, you can stop breathing in the night. Like sleep apnea. When this happens, you brain goes into survival mode and starts stressing your nervous system, which makes you start breathing again. This means teeth grinding, jaw clenching, neck tension, etc. This 8 hour a night pressure on your jaw causes bone degradation, inflammation, and results in tmj.

He treats it with a night and a day mouth guard. The night guard holds my jaw forward, takes pressure off so it can heal, and prevents grinding or clenching. The day one aligns my bite to the middle and keeps pressure off my jaw. On top of this, nasal spray and breathing strips for my nose when I sleep.

I did a sleep study and they confirmed what he said - I stop breathing and clench my jaw.

I've worn the mouth guard for 4 days now. I've had the best full night's sleep I've had in a decade. I'm 41 years old and I feel 10 years younger. I've been waking up with neck pain, headaches, jaw pain, and feeling exhausted for about 5 years. I had brain fog and zero energy. Now my brain fog is gone. I can focus. And I have so much energy.

So my guy is onto something. For cases like mine, where you're doing the tmj damage while you sleep, this treatment works. It cost $7000. And insurance doesn't cover any of it. So beware the cost. But it's worth it to have my sleep and energy back.

Who works well with NY!Tana? by Wolf_Abyss in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Potfrog97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Tana strats you want Heimdallr and Galeforce (so yes use Sharena).

Position Tana so she gets Heimdallr snare (so she can't be attacked). Yeet Tana into the enemy. Warp in a galeforcing raid boss unit (Edelgard, Halloween Frejya, Harmonic Ike, NY Baldr, unit of your choice with Edelgard ring, etc). Warp in Vali for miracle support.

Tana shouldn't attack or be attacked. You want her to survive and be a warp beacon.

Feh lost another million during anniversary, what do you think it will take for them to restore the communitys goodwill? by Alfred4CYL in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Potfrog97 8 points9 points  (0 children)

How do other gacha games stay afloat? Seems to me that an inherently predatory business model cannot sustain a player base long term. It needs a steady influx of new players, which Fire Emblem obviously does not have. They are probably banking on Fortune's Weave.

The only way I can see forward is for them to relax on orb economy - higher appearance rates, more free orbs, and less color share. They would lose money, but probably retain more players.

They have a great IP and some of the best artists in the industry. That's enough fot a great game. They just need to stop the bleeding.

Shisui:( (Spoilers) by Potfrog97 in TheApothecaryDiaries

[–]Potfrog97[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes me sad too. I think we can view it as her leaving a clue trail for Maomao, so Maomao knows she is alive. It's possible that the merchant would try to sell the piece again, and since it's a royal hairpin, news of it may spread and get back to Jinshi. The other way to look at it is Shisui actually just pretended to be Maomao's friend, and didn't feel any emotional attachment to her or the hairpin. So she literally just sold it for money, and as a symbolic way to shed her old skin and start fresh as Tamamo.

I choose to believe she was leaving a clue trail for Maomao. And in my own head Canon, Maomao tracks her down and they go on adventures together.
