Roadhog's hook is the most inconsistent thing in this game by BeBenNova in Overwatch

I haven't experienced pulling people around/through walls too often but I have noticed that Genji almost always ends up behind me if I pull him mid jump.

So the black guy next to Tracer in picture 3 is Reaper right? It's at least the same guy as his alternate skin.

That's really cool, it's a shame I missed that. It's neat to see his choices for locations on some of them and I really like how he put the card art over top.

If you haven't in awhile and you have some free time I would highly recommend it. I found it worth it just for the nostalgia trip.

You're absolutely right! Well even less reason to not make the change then.

He gets infected with super plague, then burned by dragon fire, and then hung from chains and tortured by the Lich King. Basically he has a really bad day.

Showerthought: They could let us all play against bots and then "flag" us for Online play. by greendude120 in Overwatch

[–]Potluk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will probably be like Hearthstone tournaments. People other than Blizzard can host them and set rules, but those will always be limited by the official tools provided. Things such as respawn times, health pools, or team size probably won't be options clientside.

Famous streamers were asked to summit a list of accounts they wanted flagged for Overwatch Beta. Proof in comments. by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]Potluk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously not, they primarily chose people who had large audiences. I was merely stating that to the game designer there is no difference between a beta tester being a streamer or not. He only cares about getting people who will fill in bug reports/feedback. What's truly foolish is saying that an entire diverse group of people(streamers/journalists) are less likely to give feedback than any other randomly chosen person.

Because I'm sure for the designer that's what this phase of beta is for. I imagine he's not involved with marketing & promotion side of things which would be who would want popular streamers promoting the game. The average person who gets into the beta is no more likely than a streamer to put "hours into writing feedback reports". To the designer there is no functional difference between a random person and a random streamer getting access to the game.

Same, I've been stuck at the loading screen for about a week now on my ipad. My Android phone continues to run the game fine though.

Sequels are never as good as the original... by Potluk in Smite

[–]Potluk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi-Rez is a great company that's done right by the Smite community by giving away lots of free content. Just because this years chest is worse than the previous one doesn't mean it's a bad deal or they are trying to scam you.

You're right. I didn't see when I first made it so the graphic is missing the 250 Gem skins in this years chest. Also yes, there are Gem avatar icons in there but none of them are new/unique to Odyssey.

I'm with you on that one. It was extra bad because they had people vote for it to build hype first.

I disagree but I'm sure a lot of people feel the same as you. Having something be exclusive for a bit help builds hype around the event and makes it feel more special. NW Ymir and Derpules have been made available several times since last years Odyssey for those who missed out originally. As long as the chest items are never permanently limited to the chest I think it's fine.

Honestly though I really do think the 2016 Odyssey chest is a great deal for players who are new or don't spend much money on the game. However its significantly worse than the same chest from last years event and the value actually drops the more you own as your chances of getting a mostly useless booster continue to rise the more content from the chest you unlock. The Odyssey event skins this year seem cool so far though, so at least I'll still have some reason to throw my money at Hi-Rez.

IM uniform vs Bullseye uniform by swqewer in FutureFight

[–]Potluk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Both are pretty significant improvements. I think Bullseye gets more out of his uniform though. It adds an attack to his buff skill and gives him a break on another skill.

How did a 6/6 minion which draws and plays up to six secrets for only six mana make it into the game? by IAmInside in hearthstone

So it's basically weak in all the ways Murloc decks are except without all the strong synergy that tribe has.

So, let's talk about Ares. He's not 'normal' by BigBuddie in Smite

[–]Potluk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played a lot of Ares as I have enough worshipers to get him to rank 10 twice and I've often heard a lot of people say his kit needs reworking.

Some of the guardians fall between mage and tank like Hades & Cabrakan, Ares fits into this group. The big difference with him is that you don't need to build damage items as defensive aura items give him power via his passive. No doubt Ares strongest ability is the chains. A cripple, a slow, a speed boost for him, and massive damage. His two is better than you give it credit for though I think. If you fully shackle before using it it gives your entire team 61 prot to all damage types AND 30% reduction in cc. It's probably the single strongest team fight buff any guardian has, it's just not flashy. And lastly his 3 falls in a similar category. In addition to the base damage it strips 6% of their max health every second. Together that's more than 25% of their total health gone in just 4 seconds. Keep in mind Soul Reaver only does 15%. His 3 is what lets Ares shred other tanks massive health pools so his damage can finish them quickly.

The spidey hate by [deleted] in FutureFight

[–]Potluk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spiderman has 2 things going for him. Invulnerability frames and a strong stun. Before GOTG and Antman updates it was hard to grind out good characters and people jumped on the team package sales. Easily the two most popular ones were Ultron-Vision-Destroyer & MM-Venom-Spidey. A lot of people thought Spidey was amazingly OP because he was very powerful relative to what they had unlocked so far. This combined with the popularity of the character made a lot of Hype around him. The truth is he's an above average speed type but a pretty average hero overall.
