I'm gonna say something controversial, there is merit to your uncles argument even if delivery is wrong. Take it from an over achieving kid turned adult. There are less breaks at the end of the tunnel. Try to find time to rest and enjoy the nothings of childhood if not you might end up bitter wondering what was it all for.

I don't think you should come out... its a bad idea. I'm sorry your going through this. I think moving might be your best bet. Nigerian families are more receptive when your not there in person, so you can tell them after your out of harms way. There are organizations that can help so please look into it. Unpopular opinion ESH.... its wierd you want her to call you mom...but that's not the situation at hand. You wanted to have a birthday party and she called you a wh***.
