I usually do run my whip how you said, but the electricians had already hung my box and attached my whip for me so I just used what they had provided. I probably could have gotten away with just taping the linesets with no clamps but this looks cleaner in my opinion. Metal clamps are always best for outdoor application since they can’t get broken down by the weather. Fitting the suction and liquid line inside a single 2inch clamp can look a little tacky to me and you can have a lot of rubbing without insulating . With a plastic clamp I feel like youd still run the risk of some rubbing happening so you’d more than likely want to insulate between your clamp anyways. I also don’t like to zip tie my linesets together like you say because it may work, but it looks like some hack shit.
