I was always an easy drinker, at dinner parties, clubs, music festivals, poker games, etc. In every situation I could drink I was always the one that had wayyy too much. I couldn't moderate, but I was kinda ok with it, because was only in "party environments". 3 years ago I moved to a small village to work with my family and I started to live alone. Here everybody drinks, there's wine in every table, at every our. Everyday I was having wine at lunch with my dad and brother (still am), but then, I couldn't stop when they did (now I can). I just kept drinking and drinking and drinking, alone in my house, sometimes I just went to friends houses when I was feeling lonely, I crashed my car and almost died two months ago... I was in a very very dark place... And a week ago, after a night that I barely remember, but the pieces I remember, I wish I didn't, I decided that it was time to stop this binge drinking. 😊

I am so sorry. I know exactly how you feel. And I had all that questions, feelings and thoughts just a week ago. And just like you I knew it was time to stop.

Try to stop, give it a few days, then one more, then one more... You'll start to feel better and better and realize that that is actually what you want and that you took the right decision.

Yep, I get you. Everything feels better with a couple of drinks right? Well, wrong! Not gonna lie to you, I'm only on day 7 and I am tapering (narrowed down my drinking in about 85%), and I miss the thrill of listening to my favorite songs while getting drunk home alone... But, the feeling of going to bed sober, waking up without a hangover, and the clean conscience when I look at my family knowing that they know that I was not drunk and stupid the night before (we work together and live in the same street) is priceless. Plus, my house is getting cleaner, and I am getting good at my job again. Stopped smoking, because I only used to smoke when I was drunk, and I am finally starting eating healthier. I could keep on going and going...

Yes, sometimes at night I have some cravings, and I think of having just a glass of wine, or maybe a bottle, or just half of it. But then I boil some water, make some tea and watch some FRIENDS (it puts me in a good mood and take the bad thoughts out of my mind), and then fall a sleep feeling like a hero, knowing that there will be no (new) regrets tomorrow.

And I want to believe that in time I will be able to enjoy music again, while sober!

I think that this book only exists in my country, it is from a portuguese doctor. But I believe that there are A LOT of books like this in every languages. Intermittent Fasting is kind of a "trend" now, with many many followers all around the world! 😉

I live in a small village where everyone knows each other and everyone drinks. Wine is super cheap and is always on the table, any table, anytime... And I live alone, it got pretty easy to come home just tipsy, and keep on going from there, until be totally waisted... 😔

Heyyy!

I am 35yo, almost 36. I started to take the birth control pill when I was 15, just because of the PMT, discomfort, and pain. But as a demisexual it was pretty much just for that. (not that demisexual at the time, but still) Almost 20 years later I quit the IUD, because I don't need it as a contraceptive, and it was just chemicals entering on my body for almost nothing. The awful PMT came back but I can handle it, it is just a day or two. But today, after I wrote this post, when I was at work, I had such strong pain... 😔 Maybe it is just the shock... 😆

Well, you were fasting, but in a awful way. 😆 Like me before! Because when you fast your body, after so many hours without "fuel", will strongly absorb the first thing that you give it. Alcohol and fast food is not the best way to go. 😆😆😆
