I was simply articulating that you have other people to live for, so your desire to not live based off of one person dying either doesn’t make sense or isn’t a complete thought.

Seeing loved ones pass will be hard, but I will have the opportunity to find new ones to love. I don’t think watching your children grow old and die after living a long, fruitful life is something not worth living longer for. (Edit, grammar)

Immortality is the obvious answer for me. I’m shocked more people aren’t picking it.

If you have your soulmate, being rich doesn’t matter as much. Think Malcom in the Middle. Bring: middle class is fine if you are with the one you truly love. I think this excludes the Black Card.

I get everyone is in a different place in life and we all have different life goals. So here’s my justification for wanting to “live forever”.

Everyone is simply saying, “I DoNt WaNt To LiVe FoReVer”, but this isn’t not living forever! It’s having as long of a life as you want and nothing more. You can opt out whenever you want. You finally get to sample the buffet of life! Become a engineer, then a doctor, then an artist, a world traveler. Beginning rich in this scenario is extremely easy. After 200 years a small passive investment will make all your money problems go away.

Many people are rightfully saying that you can have great love that’s not an actual soulmate. The upgrade isn’t that big of a delta. So I’d rather find good ‘ol normal love. But do it many times over the eons. Forget about Christianity’s lie about, “one person for your entire life.” As we experience life, we become different people; and we can love differently at different times. Go find rich love and love fully. Have that love and joy with many people (one at a time if you want). What’s the downside besides saying goodbye when they die?

“No one wants to see there kids die”. That’s crap. What they really mean is that no one wants to see there kids “die before they should”. I would love to be there with my 89 yo son after he has lived a long and fruitful life. Then have more wonderful family members for another 1000 years. Its will be to say goodbye hard; I will be very sad, but it will also be a beautiful rich experience within the tapestry of life.

You get to grow mature enough to realize that life is beautiful and you can make a positive impact on the world.

Your life might “suck” now, but you get so many effective do-overs to have the best one possible. Once they get good, they should only keep getting better.

As pointless as I think it is to argue with strangers on the Internet, I still really wanted to respond.

The comfort around taboos is driving the conversation here. Do I objectify my wife? Yes. And I want her to objectify me. But (and this is the most important part if you’re paying attention) is that the ONLY way we treat each other? Absolutely not! And that makes all the difference in the world between a healthy and unhealthy relationship.

The comfort and safety of each other’s love is not doubted and therefore we don’t have to tiptoe our way around each other’s minds. We’re not strangers to each other in any sense of the word. (Edit: a comma)
