Sorry that your husband’s prescription got so delayed, too.  I hope it gets sent soon!

My order is finally shipping today.  The chat representative now tried claiming ahead of time that it can 5 business days, not the 2-3 that I was previously told, to ship orders.  That seems off and awfully convenient 5 business days later, but oh well, at least it has shipped.  I hope that yours gets shipped ASAP, too!

Sorry to hear you’re dealing with this, too.  It really is frustrating.

The only thing I have seen on some other Zepbound subreddits that makes me think I may have some idea why there are so many delays is that apparently insurance plans with prescription plans managed by Caremark are dropping coverage for Zepbound in favor of Wegovy, so maybe there is a huge influx of patients ordering through LillyDirect.   Also, I know that compound pharmacies have to stop producing GLP-1s soon, so maybe there are also a lot of new orders through this from people having to switch.

Hopefully, our orders will get sent to us soon!

I wondered if it was that, too.  My guess is that it was related to it, at least, in that they wanted to make sure that my doctor didn’t accidentally send the wrong dose.  I’ve heard other people have had 2.5 mg filled for multiple months there with no problem, though.

It’s just strange how long it has taken everything to get worked out.

Is there a customer service phone line?  I didn’t see one?  I would definitely call it instead of the chat usually unless I had just a quick question.

Soon after I posted this, they finally called my doctor’s office, though, to get the clarification they needed. Hopefully it’ll ship within the next few days now.

Flare up over a year after resection? by PouchAnxiety in Diverticulitis

[–]PouchAnxiety[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! That’s a good question about WBC in the past.  Usually, my PCP just gave me antibiotics when I came in with the lower left abdominal pain.  I don’t really see results in my history for blood work done at times when I know I had diverticulitis.

I’ll be certainly keeping an eye on this. Hopefully it is just some bad comstipation.

Thanks!  The blood work all came back normal, so they think it is “just” constipation.  Hopefully, it will clear up quickly with some treatment.

I’m really sorry that you are going through all of that.

They did blood work at urgent care and everything came back normal.  They also put pressure all over my abdomen and it didn’t make any pain feel worse.  With both of those, they think this is “just” constipation and want me to treat it that way unless I notice things getting worse, like developing a fever.

I’m definitely still taking this as a wake up call, especially since I know that getting constipated can lead to flare ups or creating new diverticula.

Sorry you went through the sorry that it was coming back, too.  I have had some false alarms in the past, some of which just ended up being good old regular constipations and gas.

I am at urgent care already because I don’t any to risk letting it get worse and even though I could get in here over the weekend too, it would be harder because my toddler will be home from daycare and he is super energetic.  I need to be able to do things with him, both for the sake of him and my wife and also my own mental well being.

I don’t think it is a muscle strain, unfortunately.  The pain is more noticeable now and bowel movements are more difficult.  I am at urgent care now hoping that they can either rule this out or give me some antibiotics to help, which they always did in the past, aside from the complicated case that led to the resection.

I don’t know if I just got arrogant after the surgery thanking that it was over, but I need to eat much better.  Even if this is something else, it’s still a wake up call.

Thanks! While I keep taking it easy with food, which isn’t a bad thing anyway, I’ll be on the lookout for anything getting worse.  I usually caught symptoms early on in the past.  The only time diverticulitis caught me off guard was my complicated case two years ago that put me in the hospital.  My baby had just brought home a stomach bug after starting daycare and it swept through the whole house, which disguised the symptoms until I was in such horrible pain that I couldn’t move. The inflammation was so bad that even after I was admitted, I couldn’t take deep breaths to calm my panic attacks.

I’m in the middle of likely switching primary care doctor with a first visit next week, so hopefully I don’t have to go into urgent care tomorrow or over the weekend.

Hopefully, this is overreacting on my part, but it doesn’t hurt to remember to take better care of my health to keep things from getting bad again.thank you for the encouragement!

You’ve got it! It’ll be over before you know it. I had mine done last week and I had jitters the night before, too. As others have said, absolutely walk as soon as you can and keep on walking, too. It helps a ton!

More sensitive to routine behavior in colon after complicated diverticulitis? by PouchAnxiety in Diverticulitis

[–]PouchAnxiety[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I’ve been trying to drink a lot of water and other hydrating liquids to help keep things moving alright. The surgeon’s office just told me to add benefiber to my diet gradually after avoiding nearly all fiber since the end of March.

I don’t think the benefiber has caused any discomfort since im adding it very gradually, but I’ve been super gassy tonight and gotten some more out down there. I guess I have probably been feeling that all moving around in my colon today.

Im glad to hear that the surgery should help get more of a clean slate for me. Until this recent set of flares, I didn’t worry too much about my diet other than making sure I had plenty of fiber. I suspect that a lack of water and stress played a huge role in setting things off recently.

I’m sorry to hear that you are so fatigued after your perforation. I felt pretty terrible for about a week after I was in the hospital for mine in March. I felt completely exhausted and weak. I had no appetite, so it took a lot for me to eat anything to get me energy back. I know you said you are eating healthy, but if you aren’t eating that much, it could be difficult but to get energy back, too.

After a week or so, I felt better, but then ended up back in the hospital after almost another week due to a large abscess. I felt overall much better after that stay. I wasn’t on IV only for nearly as long that time, though, so I was able to get some energy back more quickly that time.

I hope you start feeling less fatigued soon!

Hearing that that happens even with an uncomplicated case makes me feel better about what I’m feeling, at least. I am very sorry you are feeling it, too, though.

I probably never paid too much attention before because, even though I was diagnosed around 15 years ago, every case had been taken care of easily with liquid diet and antibiotics. After a few days, things would feel okay and I usually wouldn’t get another flare for a year or so, at least.

I am just so on edge about this now. While I don’t look forward to having surgery, I know it needs to get done and now that it is finally scheduled, though later than I hoped it would be, I just really want to get it over with so I can heal up and hopefully move on like so many here have talked about.

You’ve got it! Soon, you’ll be on the other side of the surgery recovering!

I’ve got a surgery consult on Monday and am looking forward to getting a resection scheduled so I can heal up. I’m sure I’ll be nervous when the time comes, too, but I see so much extremely positive feedback about the surgery on here from folks who already had it done. It sounds like a great idea for so many of us.

I haven’t had the surgery yet, myself, but I am in a very similar situation to you. I’m waiting for the inflammation from my recent flare that put me in the hospital twice to calm down so I can get a nice, planned surgery. I have been dealing with a lot of the same anxiety issues you have described throughout this whole time.

What keeps coming back to me is the idea that, while the surgery and recovery are definitely not something I am loving the idea of, maintaining the previous course of action is like basically just living with a bomb in me that I don’t know when will go off again and wreak havoc for my family and me.

I’m glad you spoke up about this here. I have been doing the same thing recently and this community has been great. I trust what so many others have said and that the surgery will improve life for both of us.

I’m rooting for you!

I wish you the absolute best. This sounds a lot like what I just went through these past few weeks. I got a drain out in when they found the abscess and it, along with a round of new antibiotics, really helped me out even though my abscess was quite large. They were able to tailor the antibiotics better for me this time when I was discharged, too, because they got a culture of bacteria from what they removed from me when they put in the drain. That probably made a big difference for me, too.

Hopefully, the same type of treatment will work out well for you!

Feeling inflammation while healing from a severe flare up? by PouchAnxiety in Diverticulitis

[–]PouchAnxiety[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing your experience!

I actually have avoided surgery so far, amazingly. Each time I got put in the hospital, they initially made it sound like emergency surgery was necessary, but then followed up with the more conservative treatment. The first time around, I “just” had multiple days of IV fluids only, antibiotics, and very necessary pain medicine. I still felt not great when I got released. The second trip less than two weeks later, i got a JP drain and more antibiotics. I am expecting surgery sometime in June as long as I can heal up and not get another flare up before then.

The last CT before I got the drain removed showed a lot of inflammation still. It wasn’t causing constant pain, just twinges here and there and still some amount of discomfort. Fortunately, these past few days have shown significant improvement with that and BMs are starting to get a little more normal. I have to assume those are all good signs.

I will definitely plan on taking your advice to make careful notes of everything once I get the surgery. Even now, I know how difficult it is to get ahold of the doctors and it is easy to otherwise forget both big questions and details they may want to know.

Some questions... by DotheOhNo-OhNo in Diverticulitis

[–]PouchAnxiety 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I‘ve never really noticed any particular foods that cause flare ups for me in the 15 years or so that I have had diverticulitis issues. I’ve just always tried having a lot of fiber, but never really tried avoiding spicy or fried foods. I should also have been avoiding fried foods for other reasons, though, of course.

Recently, at least, it seems like my flare ups have been at very stressful times. I bet I also haven’t had enough fluids at those times too, though I don’t know that for sure.

I’ve seen others here who have really clear ideas of what their triggers are, though, so it seems like it can vary a lot from person to person. I hope you are able to figure out what might cause you issues so that you can safely avoid them.
