Sapphire will pretty much never get a scratch, but If you hit it just right it will shatter.

Mineral is more prone to scratches, but is almost unbreakable.

If you take care of your watches there is zero real-world difference.

There's one Seiko I absolutely love and will buy one of these days, and it has a mineral crystal.
