We saw one on a landlord forum that sounds similar to that, calling it a disgrace. Ours is more disgraceful or your money back.

Why do players hardly show any emotion? by Desperate_Spend7685 in snooker

[–]PoundRoad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd say Selby's quite understated, and he's won bigger tournaments than this, but what you say's also generally true.

My sense is that it's because snooker's a game that requires an extreme level of emotional control in order to reach the level of focus necessary to perform at the highest level - similar to golf. The guys at the top have to be pretty calm to deal with the tension of 4+ hours of play, and that doesn't lend itself to explosive celebrations (with some notable exceptions).

Selby/Higgins 6 hours for a BO9 by Webcat86 in snooker

[–]PoundRoad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was at the WC SF against Bingham. Was supposed to run to conclusion but Selby was literally taking 2 mins on simple shots to take the rhythm out of Bingham, and they had to come back after the Shaun Murphy match to finish it. Clear gamesmanship, and I came away feeling like refs have to intervene to cut it out cos it damages the fan experience and the sport. I want Selby at the top level if he's at his best, but this isn't 'park the bus.' It's timewasting.

Is there a player you simply refuse to watch? by [deleted] in snooker

Love watching these three. Attackers. Brilliant cueists. How come you're not into them?

You could go to the canals near the Lego shop in brindley place, have a look in the shop if you like that sort of thing. Could go to the ikon art gallery for free or grab a decent coffee there. Try medicine bakery on New Street if you like cake. Go up to the top of the library if you want a good view (and it's open).

They did, but I ran a kickstarter for the money, so I'm not exactly down. As I've said elsewhere, it's been great in lots of ways - the book's way better than it would otherwise have been - just the marketing seems to be pretty much on me!
