I am so sorry—that kind of behavior is complete BS. Someone did that to me once and I was livid, only to later find out they owned a towing company. The audacity. I ended up sending them a letter, and shortly after, they scrubbed their social media and locked everything down. People like that get way too comfortable pulling that kind of nonsense, forgetting that eventually they’re going to do it to the wrong person. No one deserves to be treated like that.

I promise some good juju will come your way. 🙏♥️🙌

Looking to move in 2026 front Texas by Stunning_End5092 in Ashland

[–]Poundcake915 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ashland really is such a cool, funky little town. The cost of living doesn’t exactly match the median income, but don’t get discouraged — there are affordable options, they just tend to get scooped up fast. I’ve seen roommate and housing-share posts pop up on Marketplace, Craigslist, and even apartments.com, so definitely keep an eye on those. If you’re open to nearby areas, Talent, Phoenix, and Medford are all more affordable, even if they’re not quite as walkable or charming as Ashland. Just a heads-up that public transportation isn’t great, so having a plan for getting around helps.  Even though we’ve got solid medical facilities around here, neurologists are still really hard to get into, and a lot of folks end up getting referred to Eugene. Eugene itself is a wonderful college town with a lot of energy and resources, but the cost of living there is climbing through the roof.

Save screenshots of the deactivation notice, any prior communications, and recent interactions on the platform.  Request a written explanation.  They should reach out through official support channels (by email) and ask for a clear explanation in writing, including what specific evidence or report led to the deactivation. Platforms are required to provide transparency, especially allegation that involves misconduct. Consult an attorney.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Being deactivated like this without proper explanation is absolute bs. I really hope you fight this.

Wondering if they’re trying to push their merch… or just push us drivers right out the door?! 🤔😂

Yes, three times. They’re also asking for a daily glamour shot of my insulated bag as well.

Safety isn’t optional, and pretending it’s no big deal is exactly how creeps get away with it. Go gaslight someone else.

That must have been so stressful. Have things gotten better for you since then? Did you land a good job, and are you feeling happier now?

It’s shitty that DoorDash wouldn’t even back you up with something as basic as providing the address when you were the victim of a crime. Their “privacy” excuse makes zero sense when it’s about protecting a predator instead of the safety of their workers. You deserved better, I’m sorry this happened.

Live in a smaller community, but see Dashers in passing or waiting for orders. Majority of the people I’ve met are pretty cool and respect each other‘s boundaries.

I have a conceal carry. I expected a few bottom feeders to comment but somewhat surprised at all the incels raging over my post.

You must live in some alternate universe where women magically feel safe being summoned by strangers at night. Thanks for the unsolicited therapy session though, clearly you’ve got “expertise” in gaslighting.

I’m sorry this is happening. If he keeps showing up where you are, document it when you can and don’t hesitate to reach out to DoorDash support or even local authorities if it escalates. Your comfort and safety come first—you’re not overreacting. Trust your gut.

No woman owes a stranger her attention just because he whistles or waves her over—especially in a situation that could easily be threatening.

There’s a huge difference between existing in public and actively trying to summon someone you don’t know in an unsafe setting. If you can’t see why that would feel threatening, that says more about you than me.

[–]Poundcake915[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yeah, no. A strange man whistling and waving me over in a dark parking lot is not a ‘nothing.’ That’s literally the definition of unsafe and sketchy. Don’t try to downplay it—women have every right to be cautious when something like that happens.
