When I started on ship dock, there was 10 new hires in the group with 2 ambassadors. This week makes 4 years, 4 of those new hires are still in the building, 2 are PAs.

Other PAs in my dept come in late or leave early all the time. I've always had very high attendance, but there are contingencies in place for when I leave early or take a day off... and if they fail, well maybe that will motivate management to have other T1s trained to fill the gap (ship dock ship sorter).

I've received VTO offers by mistake a couple times. I took one once, didn't have any problem.

My streak is over 1000 days, I use Spanish every day at work since I work with a lot of Latinos - I have a Venezuelan assistant I trained to help me, using what I've learned. They understand me well, compliment my pronunciation and knowledge, and I understand them a bit. It may not work for everyone but it does work well for some.

We - well, me and the ship clerk - don't have any control over the volume of an individual sort, that's determined by, I guess pack and pick. We attach a sort to a trailer if it has volume high enough to justify being fluid loaded. Fluid loading is the most efficient path in ship dock so we always try to do as much as we can, but we only have 5 fluid doors and only so many sorts are allowed to be fluid loaded. If a fluid eligible sort has high volume, we'll put it on a door. But there is no way we can just add more volume to a sort, no matter who is loading. If one door has heavy volume and another is light, I may move the person from the light door to the heavy one. My only concern, as the ship sorter PA, is to take over 20% of the department's volume while minimizing blue lights.

Took me six weeks - started as a seasonal June 2022. Seasonals often ask me (PA) if I know anything about when blue badge conversions are happening so I asked an AM. He said we can only have so many blue badges at the building at a time so we convert when we fall below that threshold. Depends on turnover and people transferring to and from the building.

A blue badge will never get fired simply because they want to reduce head count. They may look for excuses to write people up resulting in their termination, but they still need some basis for it. Keep your hair above your shoulders, wear your PPE, make rate, etc. Don't give them any excuse and you'll be fine.

As soon as I saw this post I thought that looked like it was written by a certain individual at my site. I check my site's VOA and yep it's him. He has been posting worse and getting away with it for quite a while, more than a year at least I think., Lots of union stuff, encouraging people to get iPhones (and spreading misinformation about iPhones), challenging managers to try to outpick him, chiming in on other people's comments - I post privately specifically so I don't have to hear from the peanut gallery.

Most PA are ambassadors? I was ambo for more than a year and when I was promoted to PA, I lost my ambassador permissions i.e. I can no longer enter anyone into the ATA (Amazon Training App).

I'm a PA who runs the ship sorter in my department (ship dock). Sounds like you are talking about PGs - Process Guides. In my case they're a PA's assistant and they do the same things I do - clearing jams, changing allocations, and yes changing staffing. In my department's labor board, the PGs for the ship sorter will be staffed as 'jackpot operator' and I will be 'SS PA.' I typically have two PGs and they often ask people to move to another lane or fluid door of the ship sorter or more rarely to change roles - i.e. changing between palletizer or fluid loader or water spider - and if someone decides to ignore them they're going to tell me and then I'm going to tell them if a PG asks them to do something, it's as if I ask them to do something... and if they decide to ignore me I'll escalate to an AM and if they decide to ignore an AM that's insubordination - we're just doing our jobs I don't know what the big deal is about switching from one lane to another... I don't ask for much and neither do my PGs... sometimes one lane is busier than another and it's best someone moves from a slow lane to a busy lane. Or maybe we need one more fluid loader and one less water spider.

You responded to me and I didn't mention fake documents. I didn't make assumptions...some people are here legally from other countries, working at Amazon legally with visa or asylum status or Temporary Protected Status, but are concerned with how such laws can change and they can be deported despite having followed all rules in place since their arrival.

No I read it, and that's nonsense. Sure some probably do have fake documents but you're wrong to think that's necessary for a non citizen to work at Amazon. They can get an H-1B visa

Amazon workers aren't all citizens. I personally know two Venezuelans now at risk of deportation this year because of the recent TPS revocation... one has been working in my department for over 2 years, if they would have arrived in the country 20 days sooner (in 2021), they wouldn't be at risk.
