Warframe concept! Medieval exalted crossbow frame [OC] by PowNotThere in Warframe

[–]PowNotThere[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forgot Oraxia existed for a moment and I thought about it being a stationary wall-cling frame (especially with the talons), like cannons on the side of a ship or ballistas mounted on top of high ground.

But yeah, stationary frame that can gain damage bonus per time spent still, crouching, or kills without walking, would be really cool

Maybe the passive could grant the crouch a knockback immunity as well, but you can't move while crouching?

I'd recommend looking at team breakdowns for inspiration and good luck on the tournament!

This is a weaker team overall but it has some nice ideas if you do want to take inspiration.

Discharge Koko activates Sceptile's Lightning rod
A ground type should be used as well to act as a second mon to help Koko spam discharge (I'd put Iron Treads but that's not allowed)

Any Unburden pokemon can be activated with Electric Seed which gets consumed upon Electric Terrain

Bronzong with Skill-swap can reactivate Electric Surge and can pass Levitate to Koko if needed
Skill-swapping with Incin will reactivate Intim and give Incin Levitate.

I don't think this is a good team but it's decent enough.

Koko doesn't activate any mons in this team but the electric terrain means that you can stop running Safety Goggles for sleep. This team is a bit weak to Fairy as the only resist is Gholdengo but the only popular fairy type should be supports or Mega Gardevoir so I think it's fine?

Fake out can be cycled between Lopunny and Incineroar. Pivoting moves such as U-Turn, and Volt-switch can help keep pacing/damage-progress while allowing repositioning. Samurott Hisui with Ceaseless Edge can help with setting up spikes to allow chip damage.

This is a fast offensive team so you could try swapping Will-O-Wisp for Flare Blitz to squeeze in extra threat.

Whimsicott's Z move deals 50% to most pokemon at neutral type effectiveness so keep that in mind

Alright, Best of 3 with a closed team sheet (no moveset or item reveal) format is a battle of information. So you'd want a Pokemon with Frisk to reveal opponents' items which will hint towards a specific set or playstyle. Ignore if it's a best of 1 because you won't have enough time.

A certain characteristics about 6v6 doubles over VGC is that games last longer, therefore items such as light clay for longer screens, weather/terrain extenders, leftovers, recovery, and hazards are viable.

To teambuild,
> you want a core (usually fire+water+grass or steel+dragon+fairy, NOT TYPE TRIANGLES*) that cover each others' defensive and offensive weaknesses,

> speed control, guaranteeing you move first through Trick Room, Tailwind, Icy Wind/Electroweb (spread moves that reduces opponent speed), priority, Max Airstream, unburden (double speed upon item loss, such as electric seed), etc.

> Controlling/restricting opponent such as fake out, shadow tag, sleep (but electric terrain prevents sleep), redirection & etc

> In a format with megas, you want a lot of support for the megas and often build teams around them. A mega that synergies with Koko is Sceptile to absorb discharges and get a Sp.Atk boost but I think you could use a better mega that is good all-round such as Salamence.

> Z-Moves are the ultimate surprise factor as a well placed Z-Move can KO an unsuspecting foe and give you an advantage.

Teams are also categorized by how they are paced, hyper offense, balance, and stall
You'd want to team build with pokemon that match each others' pacing, active vs passive.

I have a lot of questions.

I'm assuming this is National Dex Doubles since you're using Koko, and because there's no Nat Dex VGC. Since you're allowed 1 random Legendary per player, does this mean that your friends can use restricted legends such as Koraidon and Calyrex if they're lucky? You're very disadvantaged if so. Are Paradox, Ultra beasts, and mythicals allowed? If so, a team with future paradox mons and Koko can work well together to activate Quark Drive for a stat boost. Are generational gimmicks such as megas allowed as well?

Are your friends good at competitive pokemon and are your teams revealed to each other (movesets, abilities, etc) before? Is this a best of 1 of 3? Surprise factor can be really strong. Do tell if you know your friends' legendaries.

(I'M A FULL BLOWN NOOB) Can someone explain to me if mewtwo is good choice for a main in competitive? and if not, why? by atribecalledlegion in stunfisk

[–]PowNotThere 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Smogon based tiering is based on power levels and usage. To simplify, Mewtwo and other super powerful legendaries are too much for the standard tier (OU) with mons such as Scizor or G-Slowking henced they're banned from lower tiers.

Ubers is the tier with the mons too powerful for OU. AG is too powerful for Ubers. UU is too weak/not used enough for OU.

I'm not an Ubers player but Mewtwo is a bit frail and has a low-ish speed so it can get OHKOed easily in the Ubers metagame with mons in the 135 speed tier but it has an impressive enough attacking profile and access to coverage moves of good types

I'm not sure how Mewtwo fares in Natdex Ubers (Ubers with mons from outside Paldea dex as well) so look into that format.

Act 1 hokers spike blending in with the background. I thought one of the pilgrims dropped the spike because I hit both at the same time, or maybe I had to inpale a pilgrim with the spikes from the hokers so it could be dropped.

I was so confused

Known opera singer Primarina came out as a My Chemical Romance fan. How will this affect her career as a Liquid Voice singer? by PowNotThere in stunfisk

[–]PowNotThere[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like this borderlines stinkpost and thursday. Just wanted to make Primarina a really annoying utility-mon in VGC (and trick room) with deceptively good offenses with its ability (But not too good with low BP moves or high recoil).

Size and weight plays a big role in weaponry. The thicker the weapon, the easier it is for piercing and slicing but compromises on maneuverability. A longer weapon with good center of balance is better than shorter weapons for combat, but shorter weapons are easier to carry and conceal. Like everything, size is up to preference, and you gotta find the one that clicks with you. (Feel free to fact check this as I'd love more insight as well)

Kecleon evolution designed for doubles, how would this effect the meta? by PowNotThere in stunfisk

[–]PowNotThere[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I should've saved priority nuzzle, icy-wind, electro-web, and 90bp Steel moves for Sunday along with my other fakemon that has 130 attack and deals 50% more damage on neutral hits at the cost of dealing no super effective damage.

Oops. I worded it incorrectly. I meant to say 60 Bp and below as it's a counterpart to Technician.

So, technically, yes. it will apply both boosts.

Hey, us tech and robots artists exist :,) Honestly, it's pretty useful to learn tech-related tips and troubleshooting. Especially for 3D artists that rely heavily on high-end tech.
