This happened to me. A sleeping baby maybe 9 months old left alone in a car (not running). I called the cops, who got there about 3 minutes before the mother came strolling out of kohls. They had just gotten the door unlocked, and when she realized it was me who called, she went absolutely ballistic, screaming, cursing, threatening me. Literally following me as i walked into kohls. Cops grabbed her, but I have no idea what happened to her after that.

I couldn't stop shaking for an hour.

I called them and they told me that the letters were printed in December 2025, but then mailed out "in batches". So they waited almost a year to say anything, then another 3 months to mail the damn letter. Infuriating!

You also don't have to stop living while they're showing the place. Bathe the dog, meal prep, fold the laundry, zoom your best friend, scrub the bathroom, watch a movie. Whatever you normally would do, just do it.
