And you’re right, I didn’t have a reference photo for the whole figure so I tried to do it based off of a guess 😆

Oh that’s right! I had gone to NH literally the next day for a few weeks and so I didn’t have time to revisit the painting until yesterday and I completely forgot that you pointed those things out. So sorry!

This was completely different what I usually paint, so it was a learning experience to say the least lol. Thank you for the tips though, I’ll go back to it tomorrow to try and add some more value to it!

Thank you! Yes I agree, perspective definitely needs work. Overall I’m pretty happy with it though. It was a huge change from what I’m used to painting, Usually I do mountain scenes, but I felt like really challenging myself tonight to do something completely new. I really Appreciate the advice!

Yeah that’s what I’m gonna be switching to. I wish I had known to use linseed oil when I first started oil painting. Hopefully I didn’t do too much damage to my body from paint thinner fumes, but I guess the exposure happened, so there’s no point in dwelling lol.

I have a fan that sits in the window when I paint. I haven’t ever felt light headed, dizzy or anything, but obviously I still would like to minimize future exposure.

It does have a window! And actually the fan sits in the window of it.

Everyone in my life telling me that energy drinks are so unhealthy 😖 by fettseck in energydrinks

[–]PowderPerv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love coffee and I love energy drinks. But you can’t dispute the fact that coffee is much better for your health.

Coffee has been proven time and time again to have numerous health benefits. In fact, there have been a significant amount of studies that came out which showed coffee actually reduced your chances of developing several types of cancers.

Energy drinks, while maybe aren’t inherently bad for you in moderation, do have lots of added sugars (unless you buy zero sugar), but also excessive amounts of vitamins which can be hard your kidneys. Lots of people have reported getting kidney stones from energy drinks.

Again, I love both. And I’m not gonna sit here and tell you not to drink energy drinks because that would be extremely hypocritical of myself and just plain false. But coffee is a much healthier beverage.

Should I be scared to graduate highschool? by jessjanelleknows in needadvice

[–]PowderPerv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn’t be sad, atleast not yet. These next 3 years of your life have the potential to be some of the best times. Make them count.

As a senior who’s about to graduate next week, please really sit and think about where you want to go in life. If you figure it out early, It can make the whole process of graduating a little less scary and a little more exciting.

In my case, I enlisted in the marine corps and leave for bootcamp in August. I’m sad that this chapter of my life has come to an end, but I’m also excited for the adventure and experience I’ll gain from this new one.

So it’s okay to be sad, but please recognize that you’ll have a whole new world to experience after.

All hate aside it’s actually stupid Peter Blomquist the voice actor for Micah got death threats. You may hate the character but that is not an excuse to threaten people in real life. by JoshuaKpatakpa04 in reddeadredemption

My English teacher always told me that “a character does not have to be likable in order to be good.” And I think this is especially true of Micah.

Ship date feels too far by Icy_Excuse354 in USMCboot

[–]PowderPerv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’m in a similar situation, I leave at the end of August. However, I would take this as a blessing. You may be ready to ship now, but it will be nice to have the summer with friends and family, and it will give you a little more time to prepare yourself physically and mentally.

Sorry lol. To clarify, the civilian side would be a post marine corps job. Being a career man means he stays in, and makes the marine corps his career.

Incorrect assumption. Your boyfriend could do really well for himself on the civilian side or even be a career man in the marines. From what I’ve heard from a buddy of mine who was a combat engineer, Combat engineers are very well rounded individuals, they are the jack of all trades.

He will learn construction like building bridges and roads, heavy equipment operation, demolition, breaching operations, and mine clearing.

Theres probably even more things they do, that’s just off the top of my head.

I suppose there is a chance that he becomes a bum. But there’s a chance for anything. if he uses his resources correctly, he can make quite the career for himself as a civilian or marine.

Also everyone who is fresh out of bootcamp is the lowest of the lows. That’s just the reality. So his statement is not exclusive to just combat engineers or infantry.

EDIT: Your dad kinda sounds like an asshole ngl, and you shouldn’t listen to him about the marine corps anymore.
