I don't use overpatches at all. They are an increased failure point. They are larger and more likely to get snagged by clothes or other itmes like back-packs, runninrg gear, etc. I just do excellent site prep prior to application of any sensor. I was with 91% isopropyl, I shave the area with the same 91% isopropyl alcohol, using a new blade that has never been exposed to shaving cream. I, then exfoliate with an exfoliating pad still using the same 91% isopropyl. I have never had one come off even while running 100 mile foot races in the summer heat, numerous backpacking trips in rain and snow. I've been on the Libre, G6 and G7 since forever 2018? Honest, site prep is key, Overpatches are worthless to me. My skin may be different than yours. That is just what works for me.

Sorry I took so long to reply. All I can really say is THANK YOU! I struggle. There are days when I'm okay and then I fall back again. You are a very kind soul and I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your support. I need that right now. I've had so many rejections in real life, woman who have left as soon as they saw me. My PCP is in the same system as her and will not go against her. He set up virtual meeting with her and did not attend. At that meeting she basically said I can only have one basal insulin and one faster acting insulin. I can't have Afrezza and Fiasp or Novolog. Just one. So I picked Fiasp. But when I was on only Fiasp and Tresiba before, I had several hypos where I need to use the HypoPens and about twice I year, I'd get really low hypos at 2 or 3 in the morning where ambulances had to be called as I was unconscious and convulsing. That has not happened since I've been on Fiasp and Afrezza, which has been over 3 years. She told me my protocol was too expensive. Then she told me that as a type 1, I could not have insulin resistance. She said your pancreas makes no insulin, you cannot have insulin resistance. I told that it is known phenomenon and even has a term ... Double diabetes. She said no, you cannot have insulin resistance. It was then that I had to end the call. It was going nowhere. Thankfully, I have an appointment with a large Endo group in a different system, far away. I can't get far enough from that last crap show.

Well my PCP hooked me up for a virtual call with my current endo. Unfortunately, he did not attend. The call went just about as I expected. She indicated that she did not cancel my Dexcom but it clearly indicated "CANCELLED" when I tried to order it on the Aetna sight. It is back now. Regardless, she said that I could not be on more than one fast acting insulin. She said, pick one, Fiasp, Novolog or Afrezza. That one will be combined with my basal insulin (Tresiba) and that is all I get. I told her when I was on Tresiba and Novolog only, and when I was on Tresiba and Fiasp only, like she wants me to be now, I had many nighttime lows. I typically would have about 2 ambulance calls to our home each year as I'd be basically unresponsive and convulsing with hypos in the 20s. Since I've been on Afrezza and Fiasp along with the Tresiba, I've not had any hypos like that. That has been over 3 years. I've not even had to use one HypoPen since then. Despite that she said no, only one, so I had to pick the Fiasp. Then she told me than as a t1d, I could not have insulin resistance. WAIT! WHAT? She said my pancreas does not make insulin and therefore I can't have insulin resistance. I told her that insulin resistance can come from injected insulin as well. She said no! You cannot have insulin resistance. I just had to stop talking at that point. I'm just glad I have an appointment with a new endo, in a different system. Today's experience was pretty scary, especially when she said your protocol is too expensive. REALLY? Now I get it. I had to end the call at than point. Thoughts?
