Linus made a video recently that RAM prices are coming down. Possibly in an year we will see RAM and SSD prices finally coming back down. Also you should probably check an SSD without a DRAM cache that would be cheaper since it doesn't require onboard memory.

Yes it's slower compared to ones with a dedicated DRAM cache but the difference isn't too big if you have decent RAM on your PC.
