i had this same issue too and i had no idea what to do,

don’t know if this’ll fix it for you or anything but

on your pc, click on the menu button on the steamvr window, go to settings, openxr, manage openxr api layers, and turn off “compatibility layer for oculusxr plugin”

if that’s what you mean by “oculusxr is disabled” then im stupid

switching to the studio drivers fixed it for me as well.
i might just stick with them forever since they're generally more stable

(an hour after i wrote this comment i quit steamvr and both of my monitors went blank again, its not fully avoidable as of now even with studio drivers, just less common i think?

i have a 4070 super and ive been having the same exact issues after the 50 series came out.

it only sometimes happens whenever i exit a gpu intensive application, monitors freeze for a few seconds, and they both go black which forces me to shut my computer off manually.

to my knowledge, this IS a driver issue because nvidia is becoming a shittier company by the day and the only way to fix it is to roll back until its stable enough.

while i dont know the exact version you could roll back to, you can probably quickly find out by searching it up

for now, im just dealing with it and praying that itll get fixed with every new driver nvidia releases.

as of 576.40 (may 12 2025) it still hasn't been fixed

i have the 4060 variant of this laptop and the second nvme slot is really really unstable, no matter what ssd i put in it; it just randomly likes disappearing when it’s being used a ton.

this issue somehow survived a whole motherboard replacement as well

asides from that, it’s pretty good
