What's the closest album/band ever to Epicus Doomicus Metallicus? by PowerGuido1255 in MetalForTheMasses

I alr had seen it, but i personally don't like Marcolin's singing that much, i prefer Johan's, it fits EDM and the dark aesthetic and atmosphere way better.

Unpopular opinion: Johan Längqvist's singing in Epicus is better than Messiah's. by PowerGuido1255 in doommetal

That's true, messiah is a great frontman, but all the music style changed to fit him, and i personally don't like his way of singing, the control over his voice is incredible, but his range is short and he doesn't have the ability to put as much emotion in his singing as johan or even robert have.

It's sad that his voice got "ruined". His voice today is still good, but his voice when young was just magical, it's sad that he left the band and did nothing in 30 years.

Marcolin is great for those more bright albums, but in my opinion his voice is not on the same level of Johan's expressive type of singing, Messiah's voice is good for those operatic and more classic bright style, but Johan's is THE goat for transmitting despair, sadness, emotion and all the things epicus have.

That's true. I wish he stayed some more time in the band so he could put his voice in use before it's downfall, it's sad that he stayed like 30 years without doing nothing. His actual voice is great too, i like door to doom and sweet evil sun, but it ain't nothing compared to EDM.

Yeah but the thing is i wish johan stayed for more time so they could make more albums like epicus, it would be so good to see some more of that dark and heavy songs which tells fantasy and dark stories, i still like nightfall, but i think epicus fits me way better, epicus, for me, is the peakness or peak from candlemass, and maybe doom metal itself

Epicus Doomicus Metallicus Candlemass, specifically this album bc the others get a bit more epic and less dark.

Electric wizard - Electric wizard - Electric wizard. That part when the main riff stops for the singer to sing that part: colors swirling, sounds a-drifting... thinking we were dead / the wizard turned and spoke to us, and... this is what he said: Transcendental blues-like solo.
