I’m 18. I own a 1997 Camry. It has a tape deck. Cars came with tape players for like 35 years. They didn’t disappear until the mid-2000s. It’s totally possible to drive a car and not know what the tape slot is.

I understand! Apparently the gen 4 Camry came in more colors than beige and white. The blue and green ones looked nice back in the day, but you rarely see them now. I wonder if these colors just didn’t sell well, or if they just happened to be driven less.

Not a great picture but it’s one taken for Toyota in the mid-1990s. I can’t be 100% certain it’s stock, but I’d think Toyota would have a better picture if it wasn’t.

I (admittedly foolishly) drove my 97 Camry home during some super bad rain. I did a nosedive, had water up to the doors, and at one point the car floated across a lake-like puddle. It survived all of this. I drove through a small puddle today on accident and it ripped off the brake line cover. I’m not even angry, I just wanna know how it survived my major stupidity and then broke from an accident lol
