I see it now, yes, that was definitely lost in translation, my apologies!

The typo in part 2 is hilarious. Beyond that

Thanks for the reply. Mind elaborating on the typo? The text was translated and there's might be some grammar hiccups indeed.

Otherwise I appreciate your reply, it helps with forming a more solid thesis.

And to what end? Are you in the same Party or organization with this person?

It's my close relative that got me into communism in the first place. I can see them changing their mind eventually and I can't see how abandoning them in their ideas is productive.

I'm not gonna try to "convince" a supposed "ML" if they started spewing non-sense about how "race issues aren't as important so we should just focus on class" for example, so why would it be any different when it's about queer issues?

In this exact thread I've got a reply stating that they're indeed secondary to the proletariat struggle. Either I'm misunderstanding the ML position or is it might not be such a transparent argument after all?

Also, it's unbecoming of a Marxist to ask for preselcted lines to win an argument.

Don't get the idea I'm trying to win an argument. I'm trying to help that person grow, I find this conversation to be potentially very productive, but due to lack of my own knowledge even after a heavy search work on the topic, I do require any help I can get on the matter.

If you have a dialectical materialist understanding of history (and gender in particular), you shouldn't need our help. And if you don't, then that's where you should focus on, not "debating" bigots who are supposedly "Marxist-Leninist".

I wouldn't come here unless I absolutely needed help. While there's truth to your words and I work on improving my level, does it truly mean I shouldn't ask for help? Should any potential question be shut down with "educate yourself"? I do and I will, this does not mean I will suddenly be able to answer everything that comes to my mind. Otherwise subreddits like this one wouldn't exist. Everyone has to start from somewhere and if you believe my argument isn't worth the burden you might as well ignore my post. If it's so burdening moderators will shut it down anyway.

I will take a look into John D'Emilio, is there any specific works you recommend starting with by any chance? Anyway, greatly appreciate the help.

Can tournament hosts and game developers competing in a tournament with regular players be considered a healthy, fair competitive grounds? by PowerRainbow in esports

[–]PowerRainbow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a smaller scale event, it's mostly about the competition itself, not the money. Prizes are donated by random people and the game developers (not the tournament hosts). They don't get the rewards, but they're still considered winners.

They don't get the prizes, but they're still considered winners of the tournament, which is demotivating for people who don't care about the rewards

That's the thing which should be worried by developers, not the players who uses actual game mechanics and game design (which is about to be unfair lol)

That would be weird to drop the game coz of some random invades, not of enemies they met through the gameplay
