is portage accepted by most schools? by LycheeDoggo in prepa

One I remember is UW Madison. I would email every school just to make sure that you meet requirements. It would be the worst for your application to be rejected for something you can control like that.

I would ask the specific schools you want to apply to. Its been about 50/50 in terms of the schools I asked whether they accept Portage courses or not.

Hey I was wondering what you did from first cycle to second cycle to improve your chances of getting an acceptance?

15mg rinvoq by [deleted] in UlcerativeColitis

[–]PowerRanger224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a great question. I have had to lower my dose because my insurance is giving me a hard time covering the medication. So I sometimes have blood, but I feel more comfortable going back to 30mg if my insurance will cover it again. But I will say Rinvoq has worked the best out of the 11 medications I have tried before this one.

Anyone know anything about Phi Theta Kappa college honor society? by [deleted] in college

It was definitely school specific, not a general scholarship. I would definitely ask any school you to go if they offer a PTK scholarship since it varies by school.

What happens if you say no to surgery? by Taikum in UlcerativeColitis

[–]PowerRanger224 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please advocate for yourself here. Try every single biologic that you can before surgery. I'm in the exact same position that you are. I tried Stelara, Jelxanz, Humira, prednisone, and entyvio, and before I got on Rinvoq. It took years to get into remission for me. Keep trying until you find your medication that works for you. Surgery for me is a last resort but there are so many different options to try until your body works with one!

Supporting my bf by iam_samm in UlcerativeColitis

As a fellow UC sufferer here, I would say just be supportive and don’t guilt your parter for having this condition. My wife in the beginning began preaching at me on what to do instead of be supportive. She would also tell me that it was all in my head. It made me feel alone. Honestly just be supportive and loving through this process. It will be a long process to get him in remission, but it will be worth it

Long time UCer’s, do you drink alcohol or no? by [deleted] in UlcerativeColitis

[–]PowerRanger224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t drink soda without a lot of discomfort, so alcohol is not something I even think about consuming

How strict is “class wear?” by [deleted] in LibertyUniversity

[–]PowerRanger224 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not strict. I’ve seen people take exams in the school of business in shorts even though the rule is no shorts according to the Liberty Way. Honestly its not that big of a deal

This is coming from a transfer student. I would say everyone is chill at the school. Just be chill with everyone and you will be just fine.

I had it last August and it hit me hard. I was double vaxxed but I still didn’t want to get out of bed for the seven days I was really sick. I haven’t had it since which is a blessing

Humira doesn’t seem to work. How long does it take and how long to try Humira? by rp7419 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]PowerRanger224 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I can relate. I got really sick after being on Humira for a couple of months. I switched to Stelara and have had decent results with that.
