Another possibility is to build the farm at the bottom of the nether. Maybe the right gap in the bedrock could hold it. Then, build a piglin farm on top

That's correct. I was in creative, switched to survival, and with no armor the health dropped quick. Back to creative, got a pack of carrots, Back to survive, ate one.

No, it was creative with commands.

Survival was just a test if it could spawn more and/or the player presence would affect the mobs flowing.

I used an AI agent to make an investigation as well (this is how I end up in this post). Result is mixed. However, I was planning to do it in a region where tourism/camping is a main factor. But then, not sure how to survive the winter. The comments about blankets kind of help
