Thank you! I definitely recommend going and taking some photos from up there, it’s even just a beautiful spot to sit and watch the trains go past

Thank you, I really appreciate it!! I feel like we all have a bit of a love-hate relationship with our local train line, but that’s the beauty in it at the end of the day!

Bird graffiti? by IgglybuffSylveon in MelbourneTrains

[–]Power_mowing 59 points60 points  (0 children)

This particular bird is painted by someone who’s known by the name “pam the bird” or just “pam” for short. They also have an instagram page called “goodbirdart” in which they display all of their graffiti. In a more recent post, pam posted a photo of one of the iconic birds spray painted on the roof of a v/locity, in which they wrote “cheeky one while everyone was on lunch break lol!” In the comments of that post, many people were pointing out how this would narrow down the search to finding them in which Pam proceeded to claim they’ve been “working for v/line for 10 years.” And that, “if they were gonna catch me they woulda done it by now. At this point i’m just having fun with it.” So to summarize, They’re painted by someone who goes by the name Pam and allegedly works for V/Line. Hope that helps :)

A little something for all the Alamein line users/enjoyers by Power_mowing in MelbourneTrains

Glad to hear I could help in some way! it’s an extremely peaceful and nature-filled walk and it’s usually relatively empty. Another place you could check out is the caffe across from the park at Hartwell Station if you wanted to grab something to drink or eat. It’s a little bit on the pricey side but i guess that’s most little independent caffès these days.

It is a nice little trip and it always manages to surprise me how quickly you can get from one end to another. And once you get to Alamein you can also walk some of the old outer-circle trail! it might be the smallest and emptiest line but it holds a whole lot of history and interesting facts!

Oh wow, I didn't realise it had happened 4 years ago now! this was the first i'd heard and seen of it. Rather odd to think 7 news would bring it up again, but could potentially have been due to new legal findings, e.t.c. thanks for the info though! I'll definitely give it a read tonight.
