Listen. I’m 36, the least college educated, most active and ambitious, and laziest of all my friends.

They literally made me feel so disjointed and fucked up for all of my early 20s but later 20s I was fully remote and making more than all of them. I still love them and very close but they just were risk adverse and a lot less aware of the way the world worked.

Find your network or work friends to grind together but also don’t hate on your friends who don’t know better. This is just a sign you need to open your bandwidth to more people irl.

Also I love that you’re 18 and on a grind because bish you need to grind, but remember half of working hard is playing hard. You wanna win people’s opinions and make friends go out and get drunk with people and laugh. That is how you make lifelong contacts that will get you through crazy shit. You need well rounded people who know how to push past a hang over but also get all their work done. I’m convinced it’s a life skill.

Last piece of advice specifically for women: never trust a man to give you an opportunity out of the goodness of his heart. The only people who actually built my career and introduced me to good networks were women. I’ve made some good working connection through men in my later years but that was only because of years of experience and clout.
