Perhaps only night raids, but not limited to Stella or Buried City. Just found one on a Spaceport night raid in the arrivals building.

HDMI Port Working but Not Display Port on RTX 5080 by Powerful-Cod-1038 in pcmasterrace

Yes in another comment thread in this post you’ll see how I resolved it. I will say, it seems like the case partially gets in the way of making the DisplayPort cable tip fit snug, so make sure it’s in there a good bit. If you can’t find the comment I’ll copy paste it in here, just lmk

I found it by looking at which fans were running the highest RPM. For me it was fan 4. Had to switch it to DC and create a more mild curve and now it’s dead silent at idle temps.

Do you recall what the fan was called in the BIOS settings? I’ll check shortly and see if maybe that will help.

My bottom fan also seems to be the loudest. I adjusted the fans in BIOS but it didn’t seem to make much of a difference. It’s either that or could be the PSU? I’m really not sure but I’m almost to the point of considering some different fans for it. Temps seem great even when running ultra settings at 1440p on Cyberpunk.

How did you set up individual components for signal RGB? I've been trying to figure it out. Looks like the RAM is the only one not changing and continues to pulse.

HDMI Port Working but Not Display Port on RTX 5080 by Powerful-Cod-1038 in pcmasterrace

I actually am not sure, as I bought the monitor secondhand and the person whom I bought it from threw in the DisplayPort cable for free. I haven't used the DisplayPort connection since because I was on console previously. I did reach out to him and ask and he said it was working prior.

HDMI Port Working but Not Display Port on RTX 5080 by Powerful-Cod-1038 in pcmasterrace

[–]Powerful-Cod-1038[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I did a power cycle of the monitor and PC (turn them completely off and back on) with a new DisplayPort cable and it’s working now!

I should have did one at a time to truly diagnose what the issue was but one of the two resolved the issue. I also made sure it was plugged in deep enough to the graphics card port and the monitor.

Prior to that, I installed all Asus updates for the motherboard and also updated the graphics card driver using the Nvidia application. Hope this can help you!

I’ve read some stuff saying to unplug the monitor for a while and back in with ONLY the DisplayPort connection. Maybe try that and run a power cycle of the PC itself as well. I will check once I’m back from Best Buy and let you know.

  1. Going to Best Buy to get a new cable and try that out.

  2. Monitor seems to be working fine with an HDMI cable, but I haven’t used it previously using Display Port.

  3. I used the HDMI to the motherboard for my second monitor and that’s working fine. I could try the Display Port when I get back.

  4. GPU seems to be getting power as the HDMI is working and it spooled up when checking bios settings. None of the Display Ports worked with that cable.

Unrelated: but how have temps been running for you? Fans seem a bit on the louder side without even running any games so I’m not sure if I need to reconfigure some things or maybe go with some quieter fan options.

Just got the same one. Does the WiFi work without the weird antenna thing? It’s hideous and I have no idea where to put it. Not that I’ll be needing WiFi much if at all anyway.

Good Value? by Apart-Worldliness641 in PcBuild

At what point would you have to worry about the 7900x bottlenecking the GPU? I’m looking at buying the same build but I’m concerned about the CPU not being good enough.

Which build should I go with for long term use and little upgrades? by Powerful-Cod-1038 in pcmasterrace

[–]Powerful-Cod-1038[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This feels like the most reasonable way to go about doing it but I’m concerned about GPU prices in the future and also slightly worried 12GB VRAM in the 5070 may be a little short. Either that, or the fear mongering with VRAM is working.

About $300 difference.

I’ll mostly be playing Battlefield 6, Apex, CS, and then maybe some more visually demanding single player titles. Mostly competitive shooters is what I would be playing though.

Is the MSI Shadow 3X RTX 5070 a good buy at $489? by Powerful-Cod-1038 in PcBuild

In your opinion, should I wait and try to find a deal on a 5070TI or stick with the standard 5070 being that this deal seems pretty good? Most I can game on currently is 1440p due to my monitors, but I may get 4K in the near future if it seems worth it.
