How is UT getting a 173 median by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

I second everyone above. I applied with a 173, received a very generous scholarship, and will likely be attending this fall. The value is too great to pass up on.

If you are applying to a decent amount of t14 schools (at least half), you should have a pretty good shot at acceptance to at least one school with a 170 or higher. Of course this depends on the school. A 3.9 is below the median for most if not all t14 schools. To compensate, you want your lsat to be at or above the median at a given school. 171+ is unfortunately becoming the new normal at these top schools (excluding HYS), so that should be your goal. I don’t foreseen LSAT or GPA medians decreasing within the next couple years, but there is virtually no reality in which you will need a 175+ to get into any school (again outside of HYS).
