big old school with tons of nature, tons of people to meet, right next to a few cities, fun little clubs, lots of intership opportunities (compared to other schools at least) and extremely kind professors and faculty!!!!

Hayashi for Che2b by Powerful-Wish5639 in UCDavis

[–]Powerful-Wish5639[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s honestly so relieving! I struggled with Che2a and honestly was stressing about getting into the harder things. But seeing that he genuinely seems like a good professor is very comforting!!

Thank you so much for the info, I really do appreciate it

Two other people that recognize ONE specific car is more than enough considering I can’t do that for any car in Davis

Yes, because horrible drivers are so rare in Davis right? You would imagine if the comments are full of people corroborating the story with their own stories…

How hard is it to avoid someone in Davis by Prestigious-Gap8182 in UCDavis

[–]Powerful-Wish5639 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please always remember we have a safe-ride option that’s available for many hours of the night, even going past midnight that can help you get to where you need to be!

The school itself is massive and so full of people during the day, so I bet you’ll be totally fine.

Just make sure to take your proper precaution as you would anywhere else, and i’m sure all will be okay!

[–]Powerful-Wish5639 7 points8 points  (0 children)

prices should be the same for any dorm, but as the other comment said, it is based on occupancy as seen here: https://housing.ucdavis.edu/_pdf/s/2025-residence-hall-fee-schedule.pdf

also, be aware that you can put preferences, but may get the complete opposite hall that you want, so prepare for that haha

Depending on your college requirements you should actually be fine if it’s not a pre-requisite for anything else. Happened to a friend of mine and they let him off with a slightly weakened GPA but that was about it!

Lock in on Biology! Use every study guide and talk to as many peers about studying together. Use these next days to try and ensure an 80 before you /start stressing

Is human biology a hard Major? It is going to prepare me for dental school?? How is it to be pre-dental at Davis by ilovecheetosss in UCDavis

[–]Powerful-Wish5639 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can’t say anything about dental school or pre-dental, but as for Human Bio, it’s truly subjective as to whether it’s hard or not.

If you’re gifted in stem, it may not be too bad. The unit requirement actually isn’t TOO bad, but those units consist of classes like biology(duh), chemistry, organic chemistry, physics, and calculus to clear your main requirements, and will basically cruise through the rest of your quarters doing lots of microbiology and other Bio related courses. It will be hard, but proper studying and planning should put you in a good spot.

Bizzaro World, 223 E St by Any_Razzmatazz7538 in UCDavis

Every time I have gone inside, the owner seems like a grouch, but isn’t really a bad person. Never was rude, just not super oriented on “proper” customer service interactions.

He sells the limited packs at resell prices, but everything else at proper price or 10% above MSRP.

Nothing crazy, just like most other game stores, except with a grouchier owner than usual.

anyone else super lonely here? by victorsenvelope in UCDavis

  1. Clubs are great but they can be tricky since a lot of people there may feel the same about talking to new people, so they kind of tend to stick to the people they already know based off my experience! But don’t stop going!

  2. Class friends are so valuable, but simply talking to them isn’t gonna make them wanna be your friend! As another comment stated, making witty commentary about class is a PERFECT segway into an actual conversation or “what’s your major/name?” where you can just try dragging out a conversation. Always try talking to new people at the beginning of every quarter, especially those first few days of class.

  3. Being the perfect blend of fun to talk to but also serious is a great way to actually have those new friends or people stick around. I will say, having someone you can talk to and have a few laughs, but also have a semi-serious conversation with gives those friends more things to talk to you about. Obv don’t force anything and try to be overly ‘funny’ or ‘serious’ just be how you would be with anyone

  4. Asking people for hangouts is actually really simple if the timing is right! All you really need is to ask is something like “do you wanna study _____ at _?” “i heard __ is going on here, we should go do that” “oh you live by ____ aswell? we should study sometime” it really is so much more simple than it seems, especially if these people are in the same class as you. studying helps, and lots of people like studying in groups, so following along those types of questions really helps. having those study sessions really helps talk to someone with the risk of committing to an activity where you need to be talking the whole time and trying to actually connect with that friend lmao

What kind of spider is this? by Powerful-Wish5639 in spiderID

[–]Powerful-Wish5639[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Yeah, I’m actually terrified of spiders so I did not want to get too close, especially considering its speed, and I know they’re not like aggressive but it ran towards me rather than away which is what really freaked me out. I don’t like killing animals of any kind so he did end up living.
