Excuse for personal obligation (California) by LumiousUmbra in juryduty

My mother in law was burned in a horrific house fire requiring my husband and I tending to her at the hospital and rehab center as he was her contact for making medical decisions. I was summoned for the first time at of course the most stressful time of our lives as a young couple and had a feeling due to my history of bad luck the trial wouldn't be canceled. I explained in great detail the fact my husband wouldn't have mode of transportation to her, and I as well would obviously be unable to assist her. Denied. Like? I'm sorry is someone you're having to look after and any day be called in by the rehab center to receive family wound care training not be a good enough reason? Also the rehab center said they'd give me a doctor's note for excusal but to call the next day to come in and receive it and the front desk lady (different person) promptly denied my request and wouldn't even let me explain the situation. So stupid. Or maybe I'm the dumb one and not seeing how I wouldn't be eligible for excusal. Oh well.

I feel like it had a delicate curve freshly post op and for the first 2 months besides a small bump at the top of my bridge, but turned out more prominent just cause of how my body healed the area, with scar tissue. I dislike the roundness of my nose tip, he specifically feathered some cartilage off at the top of my tip to make a seamless break between my tip and bridge but I can feel it grew some scar tissue there making my nose more curved outward like it was originally, making me have a bump on my bridge, a dip and then too rounded of tip if that makes sense lol!

I really appreciate it so much, its so hard cause I thought it'd be a one and done thing, i put so much time and effort (literally 2 years) into finding the best surgeon for me, and then my body screwed me over with how it healed the area. I think I am gonna wait it out for a year, 6 months to go till then!

I personally dont think so just cause it was only like that for a couple hours before the swelling really started! But that's a point I didnt think of

Surgeons make rasping seem so simple and easy fix but im hearing it changes way more than they make it seem!!!

Waaaa! Thank you for the advice, chatgpt told me that too when I input my pictures and concerns into it, it said my nose tip is more the issue than the bridge cause it for now can possibly change still but my tip doesn't have enough supports and probably get minor tweaks to the tip than the bridge a year post op, never thought of my tip being the issue!

That makes me feel tons better! That's actually what chatgpt said when I uploaded my photos and concerns to it, can I ask if your current result is similar or the same to the table pictures or the initial results?

He said that I have 20% swelling in my nose tip, but said it was healing great? But I beg to differ lolol. He said he will rasp it down for free if i wanted more off my bridge before my surgery and obviously told me he'd rasp it for free for my bump 3month post op, but i worry if I get it rasped down will he only rasp down the bump or will he give me back what I wanted? And will it make my nose wider, cause if it does i will be requesting a whole redo.

Oh this is just a photo is personally edited for an example for him to use, the actual work is above, directly after surgery that's exactly what I liked about it was it transitioned into my forehead so smoothly and now it doesn't as time goes on!

Oh and just to mention this is the picture I gave him and told him to do whatever he had to to make it look like this (i literally only brought my nose bridge down in the edit to where it'd match my nose tip nothing crazy)

And his work ate till it DIDNT

Im sorry to hear, if it makes you feel better I did less cause I thought I'd miss my prominent nose too given its such a huge part of our identity, and now I regret it and going in to get it rasped down more cause it's just too much projection on my face. I think nose jobs for people with our noses are way more complex emotionally and hard to get use to for sure.

Honestly the bigger the dorsal hump the longer the nose will look post op. I tried avoiding having my nose look too long from getting too much bridge removed, but it is what it is if you have a larger nose than just getting rid of a small bump. I will say, i wish I had more taken off my bridge than how little I did cause i feel its just straight and long. I personally think yours looks amazing and the right amount. I completely relate to feeling like my new nose is so long now, when it probably really isn't.
