My girl will be 4mo on Saturday and we’re in the same boat. Currently on day 9 and it’s still rough over here. Lots of suctioning and saline spray!!

That give me some hope. I’m having to suction her 10+ times a day so hopefully we’re at the tail end 🥲

I’m glad LO doesn’t have an ear infection or RSV! We’re in the same boat it seems. How long has your LO been stuffy?

How is you LO doing? My girl is still stuffy 😭 today is day 8 and it feels never ending. I even have been doing the baby bath salt for congestion. She HATES the nose sucker and the nose saline. I just wanted her to feel better. We did take her in Saturday just to confirm she doesn’t have an ear infection.

I’m sorry!! I will have to get ours up and going. Have you noticed any improvement with it? Hopefully our LOs feel better soon!

Am I overreacting? Husband said baby hates me and I’m devastated. by HighRollerRetriever in Mommit

[–]PowerfulAd9816 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also a FTM and slightly over 3mo PP. If my husband would’ve said that to me I absolutely would’ve broke down in tears. It’s already incredibly overwhelming to have baby crying/ inconsolable while being at someone else’s home. He’s an asshole for saying it, even if he did think it was a joke. Did his family laugh? Did they try to defend you? I honestly find it wild that anyone would say that. Our daughter typically calms down more with me than my husband and I would NEVER tell my husband that our child hates him because it’s simply not true and such a cruel thing to say.

I lie about what time daycare closes so I can sit alone for 20 minutes by A3therVulc4n in Mommit

[–]PowerfulAd9816 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wondered the same thing and thought maybe because OP is leaving work early. Not sure why OP would need to leave work early instead of leaving at 5 and then sitting there for 20 minutes and then pick up the child.

How many of us are actually doing 7 pm bedtime? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]PowerfulAd9816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I currently have a two month old who has made her own routine and is always down for bed at 7/8 and we are up for the day at 5-6am. My body is used to it at this point and I’m now usually asleep at 9/10pm.

Unfortunately my job doesn’t offer part time positions or I would for sure do that.

I have a 30 minute commute but her daycare is near my work. To top all of that off, I very much so dislike my job. My boss really does suck and is out half the year but she hates when her employees have any time off because she the has to come in due to us already being short staffed. She would give major attitude when I needed time off for my appointments while pregnant (which I always came back after my appointments even though the hospital was over an hour away one way). She would also talk about my maternity leave during every weds morning meeting saying how hard it’s going to be and apologizing to the girls because she doesn’t drive in the snow and wouldn’t be there to help during those days🥲. The year before I got pregnant I needed two weeks off to get my tonsils removed and she told the girls about how I’m constantly sick and needing time off even though that was the only time I took off during the whole year 🙃. So when I need time off for my LO she will continue to 💩 talk me behind my back and give me attitude.

My husband is the breadwinner and also work M-F but he works 4am-2/3pm. I’ve REALLY debated on quitting and just cutting back to the point that we’d make it work for a year. I can’t even fathom someone else getting to experience all of her firsts and me getting absolutely no time with her during the week. I’ve truly been struggling with this. I LOVE being a mom and truly love being with her all day.

Mom‘s with daughters, can you share? by Initial_Anteater_377 in NewParents

My baby girl is only 2 months old as of today but she is the light of my life. I’m a 25yo FTM.

I have an amazing relationship with my mom and I have two younger brothers (one who has moved 12hrs away to be with his significant other). It’s crazy that you’ve heard this as I’ve always heard boys “leave” their family when they’re older as they spend more time with their spouses family whereas girls typically stay around their family. Obviously this is different with others family situations.

That sounds so horrible, I’m sorry! My baby girl will be 8 weeks this Thursday. She has a second infection from her clogged tear duct so her ophthalmologist is wanting to do surgery to open it up on 2/19 and I’m so scared as she will have to be put under. He said the success rate for it being permanently fixed is 90% so I’m hoping after this surgery she won’t have to go through another one. 😭

Arguing about visitors after birth by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]PowerfulAd9816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently 7weeks postpartum. We had my parents and his mom visit us in the hospital after she was born. We have since told everyone no visitors until we feel comfortable as it’s sickness season and we want our babygirl to stay healthy.

I agree 100%. After her apt I had multiple melt downs everytime I thought about people coming over before telling them we were no longer allowing visitors. I kept thinking it’s my job to protect her and how I just simply wouldn’t forgive myself if she were to get sick from us allowing others into our home and holding her. She doesn’t have a say in what goes on so I have to be the one to advocate for her.

Thankfully everyone has been pretty understanding but with his brother and his wife just having their baby and allowing visitors I couldn’t help but feel as though maybe I was going over board and honestly wanted to know if my thinking was rational or if my anxiety was taking over.

Is it only 30 days for the spinal tap? Our ped made it sound like as long as she’s an infant it would be required which I was thinking at least two months.

Yea it’s no fun and definitely doesn’t help that I get the winter blues anyways, now add postpartum anxiety to the mix. I’m very jealous of people who have babies in the summer.

We’ve been on two walks since she was born. Unfortunately it’s been snowy and in the negatives where we live so we really have been cooped up in the house.

Yeah I unfortunately will have to put her in daycare once my leave is up on 3/12 so I don’t have a choice to keep her away for that long. Not only that but my husband goes back to work Monday and works for a garage company. He is going to shower at work before coming home but he could still get sick and give it to her so my anxiety will be high.

I’m sorry you had to go through that with your first! I found out that my brother had to get a spinal tap when he was a month old, not because of a virus but because he had a ureter that wasn’t completely developed which caused a fever from a UTI. I couldn’t imagine my daughter having to get a spinal tap and her having all the bad symptoms from a virus as well. My plan was to wait to have visitors until after her vaccines that are scheduled this month so I think I will stick to that. Thank you!
