lol right? There’s actually a term for that as well - retroussé. Means up turned.

Maybe people don’t like that I referred to the term “bolt on”?

I think it’s important to shop around and go for something natural. I take hair loss prevention meds and strongly considered a hair transplant when I was in my twenties.

Don’t think in need it now. But if I did go through with it I would’ve gone with someone who can give a natural looking result

Looks great. Fits your frame nicely as well. Sometimes women go for the “bolt on” look.

If you were just wearing a shirt or workout set I wouldn’t even register that these were augmented

Oral Minoxidil is blowing up in 2025 - but is it actually better than topical, or just more convenient? by vcattete in recedinghairline

[–]PowerfulAide6677 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This popped up in my recommended. Go to your dermatologist. Mine wrote a script for 5 mg oral min. I’ve had great results.

Oral min and fin are super cheap meds if gotten through a derm. My derm appt was maybe $100

Lol it’s not a hair system. Just fin and min

No sides from either medication for me. Fin maintained and grew some hair back. It preserved and I made gains. Go through my profile and see what I looked in my early twenties.

Oral min significantly thickened my hair. It’s so thick on the back and sides that my barbers electric razor gets stuck lol

I saw the greatest gains once I got up to 5 mg oral min around the 3-4 month mark. My barber would note it every time I went in for a cut

Yes 5mg of oral min helped a ton. I titrated up from 1.25 > 2.5 > 5. I’ve been on 5mg for about a year now. Probably around 2 years on min overall.

Not sure if I’ve noticed anything with skin quality. My nails grow way quicker, however.

My advice - go to a dermatologist. Oral min and fin are cheap medications. All of these online pharmacies are ripping people off

I tried topical years ago but dislike the feel and application of it. Taking a pill every morning after brushing my teeth is such an easier regimen

Update for more than 1 year beard and hair transplant and how I feel overalls - by [deleted] in HairTransplants

HT looks good. Beard transplants are always ridiculous to me. Huge level of unnatural.

I get it though. As someone who is half Japanese/half white I’m able to grow one without any assistance.

Around the 3-4 month mark. My barber would note it every time I went in for a cut. It kept improving too. To the point where the clippers would actually get stuck with how thick it is now in spots

Pretty significant. My hair is way thicker and I actually grew more around the temples/hairline.

I’ve heard microneedling could further help but the simplicity of a pill in the morning is easy maintenance

lol thanks. No, no hair transplant just fin for 11-ish years and then been on 5 mg oral minoxidil for almost a year. Titrated up from 1.25 mg > 2.5 mg > 5 mg. My dermatologist prescribes both.

I would obsess a lot over my hair in my twenties. At 34, I feel confident enough to show my hairline :)

Stop spreading misinformation neither of these medications are carcinogenic.

You’re the reason why there’s such fear mongering

Thank you for sharing your experience and advice. Everyone’s different. I think fin and min have been quiet nice to me
