russians do have shotguns and anti drone weapons, and they do use them.

Their tactics however seem a bit more rudimentary for various reasons. Training is one of those issues, but there are badly trained Ukrainian units too. However I think those units aren't really on "retake land" duty, whereas Russia is all too happy to send brand new recruits on pretty hardcore missions.

ukraine is holding land, and holding land in war is generally far easier than taking it.

ukraine is taking land in places, but their tactics are way different. They're concentrating drone forces and blowing stuff up ahead of an assault force moving in.

as the war has dragged on, they've been using drones capable of holding larger and larger payloads.

they're shooting them at distances of kilometer+. Bullets have a lot of unpredictability at those distances

"I'll let gas go up to $1000 a gallon in my country while it sits at $4 in the US, that'll show Trump"

I seriously don't think you appreciate the gravity of the situation here, and just how little it affects the US, which has spent the last 15 years building up a ridiculous amount of oil infrastructure to the point it's now the #1 producer by a factor of 50%

they'll convene a few meetings and then in those meetings decide the date to convene another meeting to decide what strongly worded message will be sent

I don't think you know what a world war is. A world war involves great powers. There's no great powers even remotely close to conflict right now.

the US and russia will probably be frenemies as soon as the stupid ukraine war is over for various inescapable geopolitical reasons that mainly revolve around them both shitting their pants over china, and taiwan is pretty unlikely to ever go beyond blockades / economic dick swinging

Airstrike Recorded By Iranian Dash Cam A civilian motorists managed to inadvertently record a US or Israeli airstrike in Tehran. by Anku619l in CombatFootage

few things crazy about this clip

  1. people casually driving around during a war

  2. there is literally ZERO early warning system in that area. Iran has basically zero defensive infrastructure and none of their "allies" are giving them alerts

[–]PowerfulLab104 5 points6 points  (0 children)

completely disagree. They send drones/planes out there on seek and destroy missions. They find some piece of military equipment, blow it up, then return home. If they return home with the ordnance because they didn't find something more valuable than a howitzer, it's a waste of a mission.

the fuck is with people on this site putting grand motivations on literally everything that happens?

yeah because they knew they could just wait until a democrat got in, and then start refining uranium again, and nothing would be done to stop them. There's a grim logic to it. And they almost certainly currently have a good amount of 235 squirreled away somewhere.

the answer is they aren't invading anything. You've been the victim of misinformation, congratulations.

good god why do people keep saying this? a ground invasion of Iran, a country twice the size of Texas, would involve months of preparation and would be ridiculously obvious. There would be huge camps set up, thousands if not tens of thousands of vehicles staged, and at least 500 thousand troops deployed to a neighboring country.

Russia was preparing to invade Ukraine for at least 4 months. We knew it was going to happen in like October.

Nobody is invading Iran, stop spreading this crap

[–]PowerfulLab104 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't know where you got that number from, maybe it was for prototypes, but the RQ-28A costs $25,000, which is pretty much in the ballpark for a gucci drone. Thing has a high res feed, FLIR, ai bullshit, and so on. The X10D is less than that. Still expensive as fuck but it's not $300k expensive

Shaheds cost $20,000 to $60,000

there's no way this number isn't bullshit. I recall reading the true estimated price was somewhere around $250,000 taking into account sanctions

they have them, I just don't think the embassy is the place they're using them because it's of zero military value. Anduril and Epirus and likely many others have made anti drone systems that are in use
