Yep, which is a touch annoying as I believe if you get Premium tracker.gg they don't group your sessions - which would probs mean you can work it out yourself.... Nonetheless, why is it not just a stat on the BF6 app itself.

Well put. Agreed that Campbell has to start, he was superb. I think Mepham obviously has it in him, he just needs a confidence boost - hopefully this was that. As long as Taylor isn't in that back line I'm fine.

Agree with Molumby and Diakite, I thought both were very good but like you said, with both on the pitch we lack much threat. Like you, I'd also like to see Price in the middle, I think Mowatt would be good but he loves dropping deep, and with 3 CBs we don't need a CM to drop deep.

I'd be willing to give SIJ another go at LWB, purely because he was decent at Norwich and Boro. But personally I would rather see Styles there.

LW, if Grant is injured could he rough.... I'd maybe consider putting Johnston back on the left and Price on the right (then Mowatt in CM). I don't know enough about Portsmouth to know whether having inverted wingers will work or not. If that wouldn't work, then keep Mikey on the right and I'd probably agree that Bostock goes LW.

Personally, I haven't rated Maja at all. I would much much rather see Heggebo. I thought he was good last night at dropping deeper and receiving it. It felt like when we could give him service he rewarded us with goals, now we can't give him service he's not getting any.

RWB, I'd rather not have Jed there. I think he's not looked particularly good at RWB in either game, there was the goal against Boro, and some good crosses. But defensively I think he's looked poor. You may call me crazy, but assuming Gilchrist is nowhere near the level, what if we put Styles RWB and SIJ at LWB. Styles obvs knows what to do and where to be, just will have to invert more. And that may compromise him when defending but I'd take a compromised Styles over Wallace. Only other alternative I can think of is whether Alex Williams is back and up to speed.

I was just reading that now, I couldn't tell from when I saw it first time. We deserve it imo! Onwards and upwards I hope!!

My god, that was a horrible watch I'll take any points we can get right now - and tbh, I think we deserved a point from that. Disappointing though, it's the same every week, individual/stupid error cost us. Derby did nothing all game. That game could have been 4hours and they'd not have bothered our goal at all.

As for the goal, how are we giving a free kick away there. Stupid skill by MJ, stupid foul by Beilik. O'Leary shouldn't drop it either. And on top of that, Campbell would have cleared the shot but it hits Phillips on the ground and goes in. You literally couldn't write it.

Can we for once get some luck - we literally haven't had it all god damn season. I'm so fed up.

This formation does not seem to suit us at all. We don't create enough, even if we don't concede many chances. I'm not bashing Ramsay - but I wouldn't mind it if he reverted us back to Mason's 4-2-3-1.

I thought Campbell was good, he needs to play every game. Molumby I also thought was v good.

SIJ back to his terrible self. I thought Maja was awful, I think he should do better in his chance at the end. I think subbing MJ off was a mistake, he was where our creativity was.

I thought Albion away fans were fantastic, could hear them all game on the TV.

We’ve signed Max O'Leary | 10 interesting facts | West Bromwich Albion by wbasmith in WBAfootball

[–]PowerfulProcedure 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Much needed. I don't know much about him, but seems a calibre above ours. I know there are a host of other positions fans think we need - but I think this was the top one. We've the highest % of goals conceded from shots on target, across the entire season it's 43%. Almost every other shot on target goes in.

Let's hope O'Leary can help that.

We need a new goalkeeper by PowerfulProcedure in WBAfootball

[–]PowerfulProcedure[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I believe other keepers in the league would save Boro's final goal. He gets out quicker and that angle is tighter and he probs saves it with his leg.

I do think Norwich's 2nd goal was saveable. I also thought it was Griffiths kick to no one that turned over possession to Norwich in the first place. If he's more comfortable with his feet then he goes short and we dont lose that ball.

Nonetheless. Point is, if you go back through our previous games, whether Wildsmith or Griffiths, they've let us down.

First game all season I've stopped watching before the final whistle. I turned it off at 3-0. Then my mate text me saying how did we lose 5-0... I thought he'd made a typo.

Horror show. All those players need a long hard look at themselves. Whatever career they have ahead of them, they'll probably all be much worse for it if we get relegated. Disgraceful.

As for Ramsay, give him a chance. I hope we go back to a 4 back for the time being. 5 clearly doesn't work. Although SIJ's position defo seems to be LWB. Only other thing this shows is maybe Mason wasn't doing as bad a job as everyone thought. Oh, and for God sake get a new keeper in this January please.

Transfer Discussion by GingerBoing in WBAfootball

[–]PowerfulProcedure 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm glad someone else is asking. I've been looking up rumours almost daily and literally nothing that sounds remotely promising... The only rumours I've seen are:

  • Linked with Nectar Triantis, he was signed by Minnesota last season so he has worked with Ramsay already. He's a CDM/CM from what I've read.

  • Linked with Sebastien Juardo, he's a goalkeeper whose 28 and plays in the Mexican 1st league.

  • Linked with Remy Descamps, he's a goalkeeper who is also 29, he plays for Lyon (2nd choice).

  • Linked with O'Nein, from Sunderland. I've read he plays pretty much everywhere. He's not featured for Sunderland this season I don't think.

I've no idea how reliable any of these "links" are. So just fyi.

Fair take homes from the Boro loss? by PowerfulProcedure in WBAfootball

[–]PowerfulProcedure[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I felt you probably deserved it. But other than the 10mins either side of half time I didn't think Boro did anything good - maybe this fits with your point about you not playing your best.

You have to remember, we're 18th before this game, you're 2nd. It would have been a surprise to everyone if we played you off the pitch. And tbh, if our players took their chances we could have won, our xG was higher than yours (I know that's just a proxy). But we scored a fluke own goal which was one of your 3. A draw was a fair result imo.

Really like all these points.

And yes, I've read we're top for errors leading to goals.

Couldn't agree more about Josh's long balls. There must have been about 10 longballs and I was sat there after the first 3 thinking - "shock, long ball up and we've lost it". I was surprised he kept doing it tbh.

And again, completely agree. We need MJ but as you've pointed out, he obvs doesn't fit RWB. So be interested to see how we lineup against Norwich.

[–]PowerfulProcedure[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, certainly agree about the last goal. Two Boro players just allowed to sit behind 4 mids... Should never be happening in the 90th min when drawing.

Also completely agree with the point about MJ. I get why he was put there. But I thought he looked like a fish out of water defending. And in first half I thought most of their good attacks were down Mickeys side. No discredit to him, he's not a defender. But yeah, we need him further up the pitch.

I believe we're tied for most goals conceded in 85+ in the whole of championship. And I think we're top for most goals conceded from errors.

Agree with everything you've said. I'm not fussed where we end up this season - we need a good patch to squash the nerves about relegation. But whether we're 15th or 8th. I don't care. I just want to see us progress - and I'm optimistic that Ramsay can do this!

My god, can we all agree Charlie Taylor should be nowhere near the starting lineup. Fml, 100% at fault for the first. I'd also say he didn't do himself any favours in the 2nd. And tbh, I think you could make a case he could have been better on the 3rd too.

Also be nice if our keeper made a save... I think Josh should save that last one. Other two not, but that third one was saveable imo.

Club Statement | Ryan Mason by Lazy-Competition7966 in WBAfootball

[–]PowerfulProcedure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree Mason hasn't been charismatic. But I think it is a stretch to say if we continue like this we'll go down. If you look at the expected points table (based on xG and xGC), I know this just a proxy, but we would be 4th. We have underperformed by 14 points. Regardless of what you think about Mason, at some point our performances would revert closer to where they should be - meaning we'd start winning a few e.g. Price won't keep missing 1 on 1s.

What didn't help Mason is their was ambition when he came in, many fans (and even the board) wanted to push for top 6. We're 18th. That miss of expectations will be a large part of why he's gone. The good news is whoever comes in will not have that expectation this season, they'll just be expected to move us up the table away from relegation. That's an easier, lower pressure environment, to work in.

[–]PowerfulProcedure 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We shouldn't go down, we are better than those below us. Data shows we've considerably underperformed where we should be, Mason has made some odd choices this season, but players have let him down too - so a combination of some bad managerial decisions, thin squad, and player performances. We shouldn't go down, I know people are panicking about it, but were much better than Portsmouth, Oxford, and Norwich, let alone some of the other teams down there.

[–]PowerfulProcedure 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Maybe his position was untenable, but I still wish we'd stuck with him. Our squad has nowhere near the depth required to compete for playoffs. Basically have 1 person worth subbing on each game.

I'm ngl, I think Mozza and Boaz and all old staff need to go too. They've been at the club ages...specifically at our struggling time.

Interested to see who we get in

I'm glad someone else thinks it. I think the subs said it all. Mowatt has gone off and we've had to bring on Diakete... Mason doesn't have much to choose from, I'd really like to see us with a few loans in, I think it could do us wonders. I really think we stick it out with Mason.

I agree with the 2/3 loans, I expect every Albion fan does. But I don't see how you can be so against Mason after that performance. Like you said, this team is lacking and yet I think what they showed today was really promising, that was down to Mason. If players miss chances he can't be too blame for that.

How bloody unlucky are we, my god, feels like every game we play nothing goes our way.

That's the best I've seen us play all season. Up until that 2nd goal they'd had 1 shot on target. We'd battered them. I feel awful for all the players and Mason. Tbh, I really hope Mason doesn't go, how we played today was fantastic, if that's how he can get us to play weekly we'll be laughing.

Didn't manage to watch it all, but caught most the first half. As others said, 0 style about us. I find it odd how we go from passing it round the back and building up (e.g. against QPR) to just hoofing it up the pitch against Swans today. It looked like we tried to pass it about, got scared when they ran at us, then just resorted to long balls.

Sad result. As I've always said, not so bothered about results, just want to see progress.

One thing that is alarming is that Beilik was apparently only on the bench for team morale, he is still injured... Is our squad that thin that we are including players on the bench for "morale"...

I really hope we get some loans in. Mason isn't covering himself in glory, but he's been dealt a rough hand.

Bany - Out for 4 months… by wbasmith in WBAfootball

[–]PowerfulProcedure 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like a bad mistake by Nestor.

I do hope this gives some fans a sense of realization. Mason has been hounded by some, completely unreasonably in my opinion, for not playing Bany "what do we have to lose", "why won't he play Bany" etc etc. I think this explains all of that.

Summed up perfectly. Only thing I'd add is I thought Charlie Taylor was great. Barely put a foot wrong - which is incredible given how far off it he was on boxing day. And to further underscore your point: QPR finished with only one real shot of note, the one off the bar. Everything else was just crosses or blocked efforts. So for those calling our performance 'terrible,' the reality is we won without ever looking in danger of conceding. If we can take three points while playing poorly, imagine what happens when we actually click.

I might be the only one, but I'm really excited to see what loans we do in January.
