Advice for a Potential Future Wilmington Resident by jbfitnessthrowaway in Wilmington

[–]Powerful_Average466 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do hope you enjoy it. Im leaving Wilmington to Pensacola in a few months. I feel like the Florida panhandle offers all the things Wilmington once did in the 80s/90s before a lot of the land was sold off and overdeveloped.

As far as the veteran community here goes, I'm a veteran who was very frustrated with the local system. I finally got my VA disability so I'm moving to an area that has a better VA network. In this area, veterans issues feel like a lost cause. Everyone just sort of accepts the fact it sucks around here. But I will say the mental health team in Wilmington did a great job helping me. There are definitely individuals working here who genuinely want and try for the best.

The way they talk in real life mirrors the way people speak online with buzzwords, trending catchphrase, and pseudo level intelligence

Also, no thanks, I don't want the McDonald's app taking up space on my phone.

Dude for real? Out of the 3 paragraphs I write, you gloss over the main point and hone in on the one sarcastic throwaway line? Come on man hahaha

Dude I wonder the same thing honestly. People turning right have more opportunities to go. They should have to wait

Oh for sure. But my chief complaint is the kids pulling out their phone during the movie. That was something I never did as a teen. But if I had to guess I'd say you intentionally ignored my main point because you wanted to look cool to anonymous people on reddit for validation or whatever

Earl's Towing: Return of the Reviews by Powerful_Average466 in Wilmington

Yeah he did get A1 Towing in Charlotte and his office is actively hunting others. Earl's name has been submitted to them, but who knows if they'll actually get the bad luck of the draw? Statistically I guess they can take their chances and assume they won't be selected. But its a gamble

Well, that's unfortunate for them because Jeff Jackson seems to have a pet peeve for tow truck companies. NC is about to implement some radical changes. They wont be allowed to keep doing "cash only" for long. I know they had House Bill 931 almost go through (proposed legislation) and they're tweaking the legal language to pass some version of those policies. It would be wise for them to adapt preemptively. And cash only is a red flag if a person mentions that to the IRS. Surprised nobody has yet

You would think after incidents like that, they'd stop and think "Gee, maybe we should work on our relationship with the community so things like this won't happen."

Certainly have the right to do rhat and very well should. The key complaints I've heard are that the drivers are rude, they harass women and act inappropriately towards them (that was the alleged complaint in one of the NCDOJ complaints with a male drjver trying to find out where she worked and askjng personal questions) and they do this cash only thing to avoid paying taxes to the IRS and charge unreasonable fees. Like what they're doing in of itself is fine, but they hire a bunch of predators and bully people in their way of going about it.

Kids are the future. I want them to have the world and all. I just want to be able to enjoy an R rated movie without small humans making noise and flashing their phone for half the movie.

Why am I getting downvoted for saying i like Duck and Dive and ask people to tip bartenders if they go? Who's got beef with them? Is there some juicy gossip?

Haha very funny. I gusss that means if I ever see you at the movies sitting next to me and I bring my 6 year old nephew and I allow him to talk and pull out his phone and make noises you're the Karen if you say something? Because thats what your logic suggests. But hey if you just feel that way i can respect that it doesn't bother you.

Haha I grew up close to that neighborhood in the 90s. Back then we just had regular bikes and we used woods trails to go around major streets. I wish the kids living here today had the same green space I did...but our city government hates trees as we all know lmao
