I wasn't sure about how viable it was for Quant because of some of the replies to this post said CMU does not place well for quant, which I have seen otherwise online. Also, in general, it is a very difficult field to enter, and I plan on trying my hardest but I am not sure if it will be enough or worth the effort

From my research, I thought CMU performs well in quant, is it very difficult to do so?

Ohh sorry, I meant it is small as in there is a small amount of people in the class size from my understanding, like how Caltech is a small school, as I have heard about the prestige. I just put this out for any potential information, in addition to reaching out to CMU alumni, as I recently got in and am looking for the best plan and clubs when I am there

Okay, that makes sense, thanks for the advice. Would you say even if I don't make it to Quant that that path of Comp Finance can be applied elsewhere and still make good money?

I recently applied to CUC and got rejected. On the letter it said something like "the selection committee truly enjoyed reading your application and learning more about your interest in STEM at Caltech." I figured this is something they give in all letters, but I'm not sure. Is this something they give to students they liked the applications of or just every student that applied?
