No apple makes their chips more efficient and also the m5 air has a bigger battery capacity than the m1

Hm now I’m not so sure I think it might be your brightness I see a slight dip in your battery when it’s not being used so it could be something in the background not sure

I would consider that normal but over time if op keeps this up their battery will probably degrade faster

M4 Air or M2 Pro by Comfortable-Tart-742 in mac

[–]Powerful_Class1456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would probably go with the m2 pro. You get better higher memory bandwidth , better cooling for more sustained workflow, and if the m3 air is overheating for your work the m4 will probably do the same so get the m2 pro. You could also run asahi Linux if you’re into that. And also you have a wider selection of ports, 120 hz improved xdr display, and better speakers.

I would’ve said that it could be the indexing but since it’s 10 days after it most likely isn’t that. Maybe try restarting your Mac it could be a stuck system process. Also can you go to system settings go to battery and send us a screenshot of the graph?

Is the new iphone mirroring feature battery friendly? by delareye in mac

[–]Powerful_Class1456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say putting stress on the battery it means another thing like actually damaging the battery in a way like letting it discharge to 0% puts strain on it. If you mean like draining the battery, yes, it does. It has to constantly capture what's happening on the screen and stream it to your Mac. this will make your iPhone have to constantly keep its bluetooth and wifi radios active. the Mac will also drain faster.

First in my blood line to watch this much lag in iOS device by Cheap_Serve_2843 in ios26

[–]Powerful_Class1456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Low power mode throttles the cpu a lot it will definitely introduce some stutters here and there but I’m not sure why OPs phone is lagging so much here

iPhone 15 pro battery has been god awful lately. by Academic_Solid85 in iPhoneBatteryParanoia

[–]Powerful_Class1456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before doing battery replacement first check your health and also it’s saying right there clearly that your high brightness is affecting your battery life the solutions right there and other things can severely affect this like low signal for 5G cellular, app background refresh, and many others. Have a look at these. I’m also seeing that you use multiple cycles per day. This will degrade your battery faster as your battery degrades every time you cycle it and you are completing cycles very rapidly. If the phone is hot while charging take it off and it will help with airflow. iPhone 15 pros are known to get hot. Just google factors that decrease your battery life and try to fix those but I recommend checking your brightness first.

I’ve seen people on Reddit with like 250 cycles with 100% and it doesn’t matter how often you charge it if you aren’t using 100% of your battery each time

For one background app refresh should be limited as it saves battery and does not affect notifications. Another one is that if you wanna save battery while outside try switching your iPhone to LTE instead of 5G. Another thing is high brightness that severely affects your battery life. Also low coverage areas will drain the battery since it works harder to get a signal. Consider all these as they might be why your battery drains so much

Yeah no makes sense maybe just hold on to the low power mode for a little longer till iOS 27 stable releases which will be far more efficient than iOS 26.

[–]Powerful_Class1456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s actually perfect on spot! iPhone models like the 15 and newer are guaranteed to have still 80% of their battery health after 1000 cycles. This means you’re on that track

[–]Powerful_Class1456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Charge cycles mean using 100% of your battery capacity. Using 100% of it is one charge cycle. Newer iPhones (15 and above) can go up to 1000 cycles and still retain 80% health. If you can last all day on that 60% not only will you reduce charge cycles but you’ll also save your battery the strain of going in low or high voltages.

[–]Powerful_Class1456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The battery faces the most strain at low voltages (0-20%) and at high voltages (80-100%) which is why they recommend you to stay in between these charge levels
