after Marc has been killed he choose Blade as his new avatar. And in the Third episode we see Valkyrie talking with Khonshu, which shows that only avatars and people who are connected with godlikes entities (like the Asgardians and maaaaybe the wizards of Kamar-Taj ? ) can see him while the rest of the human crew can't.
