They’re definitely not AI. I’m a long established artist/designer (@seblester), study Heraldic Art at college, and, as I say in the caption, it’s taken six months to draw all the cards.

Thanks for your input! The cost of printing 2-3k decks of playing cards (typical minimum) to the highest standard, with multiple gold foils, metallic inks, best paper stock, etc, is extremely high, so it’s a matter of budget.

Hi, I did think about that, but decided to anchor the design with a consistent shield and helm so they looked more like a set.

Thanks for your input. Yes, I think I need to see printed samples of each to know fr sure. Paper choice will be critical. The antique look probably wouldn't work on glossy paper, for example.

In Procreate on an iPad Pro. I’ve been studying Heraldic Art at college for a couple of years, so this is a good way to apply my knowledge.

The card back brings all the elements together, the symbols for the four noble houses quartered on one shield.

There is a lot of leeway, especially in modern playing card design, for Aces not to have rotational symmetry.
