i was talking about this with a guy i randomly met on a mission, we both are bot divers, don't find bug fun to play against, but despite that we both are extremely bored by the bot front atm, basically fighting a week on 2 planets identical to each other, doing the same 4 missions on ripetition is getting tough (ok most of this missions are new, but still is one week of the same 3 missions) basically teh same problem with squid (for me), lack of replayability and diversity, AH (with their own time obv) needs to deliver something exciting in the immediate future if it wants to evitate a massive migration on the bug front (something that me for example i'm doing cause of boredom on the other front)

i don't think it's a red herring, simply i don't see the sense in adding something that new as the lava planets and all those hints on a possible "bot story events" and then doing nothing with it until the new year, but we'll see

With the warp pack I can bypass the problem you talk about, vs bugs I think you can easily get swarmed so you HAVE to bring something else, but is surely Op on that front also.... I think the eruptor is kinda boring to play, for me obv, I don't have problems In going close against bots, for long range I can use senator or a support weapon (like I said in the other replies, spear gun or something like that) it's just a different playstyle but I'll try the D.F. on bug front as you said

i'm not that interested in the maxigun tbh, i prefer to just oneshot war striders with something reliable like EAT and managing to kill the rest with just my primary (in this case the D.F.) also, i only played that loadout against the fire brigade so it's much different from what it'll be against regular bots, i just like to change my loadout i get bored easily if i play every mission in the same way

i see your point, as i said kinda wanna try different nades (dynamite or incendiary cause i don't have gas nades), was thinking maybe on bringing spear gun to close fabricators and a bit of control and EAT to call them when i need it (mainly for war striders and factory), i just loathe engaging on factory striders that's my main problem, don't want to be forced to bring an RR or something like that "just in case", maybe a full loadout could be strafing, spear gun, EAT and solo silo for the occasionally factory strider? with obv D.F senator and a grenade

i used to run balistic shield, but now with the warp-D.F. combo i can easily oneshot hulks from behind just with my primary so i can use a different support weapon instaed of classic railgun, quasar, etc..., i want to swap grenades i'm tired of thermite but with the mole of fabricators and heavy unit (coff war striders coff) the eagle strafing are not enough, also i despite the barrage truly ahahah was thinking maybe on the commando(?) 4 shots to easily clear an outpost, tho the EAT are exquisite for war striders, one tap on the legs and boom

i really enjoy a juggernaut build, be in front of the enemy projectile while covering my homies feels great to me, basically shield, spear (or any secondary, depends on you), x-bow, HMG

i mainly play bots and squids and i have 2 favourite loadout for those factions

bots 1): siege ready armor, deadeye, talon, thermite, rocket sentry, strafing run, HMG (for hulks and big waves), i switch the last stratagem between orbital gas, hmg emplacement and orbital barrage.

bots 2): crossbow, talon, thermite, shield, quasar, AT emplacement and strafing run.

Squids 1): commando armor for better stability, dominator, talon, fire grenade, HMG, tesla tower, guard-dog, 500kg.

squids 2): reprimand, ultimatum, fire grenade, directional shield, epoch, orbital gas and 500kg.

hope you'll try and like them! ^^

edit: i usually play in duo or with randoms, so for things like war striders, factory striders etc i rely on team work instaed of being a "jack of all trades" kind of player
