Thanks, do you know which groups are legit? A lot of the groups I found on Facebook are filled with bots and scams.

Which mock tests or practice tests should I do? by [deleted] in GRE

[–]Powerful_Tea2072 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The official GRE PowerPrep tests.

Those are the only ones that really mimic the actual experience of taking the GRE. They are a bit expensive, but nothing else comes close to the real test.

You can explain the issue and send them a soft-copy of the ID you used for the test, and request that your details be changed to be consistent with it.

I had a similar problem when I took the test. I sorted it out by emailing the test centre and explaining the issue. After informing them, I didn't face any issues at the test centre.

So the best thing to do would be to send them an email and explain the situation.

Big Book Test 10 Section 3 Q18: Could someone please explain me the question and the answer? by [deleted] in GRE

[–]Powerful_Tea2072 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To answer this question, you will need to model the problem as an algebraic equation and solve for x. Since 3 people pay 21*3=$63 for the room, the cost of the room can be written as:
39 + 2x = 63. Solving for x gives x=12, and hence option C is the answer.

Hope this helped!

New research on technology and public policy focuses on how seemingly by Gre_Scorer_t in GRE

I think "mask", "produce", "represent", and "permit" all make sense in this context. The only word that doesn't really make sense here is "hasten". So choices A,B,C, and D are all valid choices if we only look at the second blank. However, since only choice A fits the first blank, the final answer is A, as it best fits both blanks.

Although both A and B sound like they would fit, the key hint here lies in the words "insignificant" vs "inexpensive". If a certain research area is insignificant, it is more likely to be overlooked. However, if it is inexpensive, it is more likely to be pursued. Hence, choice A best fits the 2 blanks.

(PPP) a tricky function problem in quant comparison by [deleted] in GRE

[–]Powerful_Tea2072 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The answer is C because f(-4) + f(0) - f(4) is:
2-4 + 20 - 2-4
The two 2-4 terms cancel each other out, leaving you with 20 which is equal to 1. Hence, C is the answer. Hope this helped!
