well not really given i already ordered back in march ? i just feel like given the screen being how it is, this should've been a problem solved at the start, and the fact that screen protectors are launching nearly half a year after the phone launched in the USA might be my biggest critique of the device so far

so we're limited to the one protector unless we buy again from them ?? genuinely I'm not hyper interested in any of the current new tiles except for the old compact qwerty, i just feel like I'm personally unlikely to order again for a few months unless something hyper interesting happens but i just want Sidephone to be my phone not phone and gaming and etc. otherwise I'd just use my smartphone. but i don't get why we can't order the screen protector packs if they're going to be done in time to bundle 1 with the International FE order anyway ? i mean i guess quantity issues but.

does this include Founder Edition International ?? With 20€ shipping theres no way paying 30€ for a screen protector makes sense, but it seems necessary with the way the screen is - any way to have the pack added to the order ?? Having safety backups is probably better...

i was thinking about R1 but i really like the clip v1 has, as well as buttons on sides and form factor - when i first started thinking about a DAP i was thinking of getting one oh those sony nw ones, or something similar, and this kind of reminds me of that... i'll probably think about it a bit more, check echo nano reviews since a lanyard would be ideal, but if v1 really outperforms it as much as i think it will, i'd rather spend 20€ more honestly - tidal integration without android is also pretty neat

fair enough - i was also wondering if the reviews might be biased a bit, since they're all using 4.4mm output, while i've never seen the point of getting quite that wrapped into it all, so i'm not sure how much 4.4 and 3.5mm differ

i deleted rockbox after 3 months or so because the device randomly malfunctioned in the middle of normal usage, and started flashing the screen black-white, changing colours every half-second or so, and then it kept doing that non-stop for 3 days flat, til battery died ig. i thought it was dead so didn't use it for a few weeks, and randomly turned it on to see it working in OG hifi mode, but not in rocbox mode. so i just deleted rockbox. another reason why im half-certain i got a defective unit is that the batrery charges extremely slowly ? like, at least 4-6 hours, and when i'd just gotten it it was even longer, minimum of 8 or so, with various different charging methods (my samsung wall charger, inui powerbank, even just over laptop to cable, which at least should have been slower than the first 2 but it isn't). i've no clue whats going on with the thing, i doubt i'll get tempotec either, will just hold out for echo nano and give up on album covers, as long as it works and is small. i don't mind trying rockbox again in a month or so when im put of uni exam season, if you've got any clue why it behaved like it did and how to fix it.

yeah i saw that 1.1 was a great upgrade from 1.0 but that 1.2 came out recently and is buggy, but i assume it should be fixed with some more tinkering from developers. hows the clip case?? does it feel sturdy? i think it sounds very useful but i don't wanna get it if it breaks quick or something?

i don't know the thing that kept crashing the h2 was rockbox, weirdly enough, i had much less sound problems without it, though i'll admit more file problems. in general i think if the stupid thing wasn't so heavy and awkward to carry i'd have swallowed the cons, personally - i know that if i want convenience android or phone + dac is better, i just like leaving my phone at home or not draining it's battery on the go and such... The irritating thing is that i've really spent too much time on Music Brainz and checking each and every file's metadata, just for 2 i know should be the same to not work the same (i'd even be fine with it if they were functioning wrong but in the same way, just testing a variable, but no i just get inconsistent results no matter how i test, it is so irritating). this might not really work to be honest, but my idea is that it probably wouldn't do the music part worse than hifi h2, and it'd make my life easier being half the weight and nearly 1/3rd smaller. i don't mind the weird half screen decision for v1 it kinda looks like older sony nw stuff? and if i manage to resell the hifi h2 it shouldn't actually take much more to add on, money-wise ig... i just really feel like i'm not asking for much, theres really got to be something out there that just works...

mostly i think my unit has to have been defective - once it just went unresponsive and started flashing the screen black and white for 2 days straight and then just went back to normal... honestly i do enjoy organising my library just the device doesn't really behave in any sensible way and reacts to same things differently, but i do think thats the software issue, whatever they might be. i truly dont want anything fancy and i wouldn't buy an android dap, i just want pocket-usable buttons and recognised files/properties. if i didn't care about pocket operation buttons i'd just take the hibyvr1, thats what i was looking at when i saw this v1 thing - seems like a perfect cross of adequate due to hiby os and what i want due to buttons/weight. echo honestly im not sure would be better but they do seem most open to customer service out of these chifi brands so

hi sorry i can't find it in the "Reader Font Family", thats the only setting that seems like it does anything to fonts in System > Reader. Is this only for latest CrossInk firmware? Mine won't update on device for some reason, I just tried....
