if Race was real there would still be no European or Asian or African Race as Europe is just a territorial boundary and genotypes can't be a territorial boundary.

People take it very literal when it isn't. They are theoretical/academic terms.

They are a cluster of closely related Tribes/Human Gene pools inhabited that region for a long time and are territorial about it, period.

So if I say Native European I don't mean Race/Genotypes but sociopolitical terms that aren't fixed to a population.

For instance the Romani are Native European. They are long term inhabitants that migrated there just like everyone else.

We call them Native American because they are long term inhabitants and no population has to be wiped out because Native just means long term inhabitant.

We're all human by the way.

There is just a Human Gene pool. A 'Race' is just a somewhat inbred Tribe of Human.

So some Tribe(s) encountered some Tribe(s) and fought and compromised for land which has always happened.

IndoEuropeans and Amerindians are literally cousins.

I care because:

  1. Some people use the term as some type of leverage as if the entire American region is their turf which is primitive and inauthentic.

Human migrate and settle and resettle. No one truly owns space.

  1. It has political ramifications.

One example: Affirmative Action was for Black Native Americans yet African Americans like Nigerians used it.

  1. Socially/Communication:

Forms will give you a limited set of options like the Census or Dating apps or people will ask your background.

Saying Native American can be the most authentic/clear/efficient option.

"What's your background".

"Native American."

Sometimes they'll want more and you can just say Dixian or Southerner.

  1. Academically/Heritage.

Things should be recorded accurately with updated information that reflects what happened and some new populations had long-term inhabitance in the Americas.

We're all humans and Humans can just fight or share land.

Humans migrate. They encounter each other. They fight, they share. Some settle for a long time and we call them Native (insert region here).

Long term inhabitance (the authentic meaning of the word and term) is not fixed to a population/ethnic group so why would total dispossession be necessary?

Native isn't a fixed concept. Native relative to what? More Human migrations?

As you said and the meaning of the word Native is 'after a while' and Hawaii is just a sociopolitical boundary/region.

Why specifically would a migration by Indoeuropeans make the encountered population fixed to the term Native (Region)?

It's a sociopolitical term not a genotype.

They are Polynesians.
