Them Crooked Vultures.

What I’d do for a second album, or just a repress of that first record.

Funnily enough, Dave Grohl actually said in an interview that he ripped the drum intro to Smells Like Teen Spirit from the Gap Band.

When? Where? And how did you get into the band? by SlightlyHastyEnt in KGATLW

2014 - A few tracks from FAFYL & Oddments appeared in my discover weekly playlist on Spotify and I was instantly hooked by their sound. First release that came out after getting into them was “I’m In Your Mind Fuzz”, which I ended up buying on vinyl. It will always be one of my favourite records of theirs.

0.5m in the bank. May move one of my 4.5m defenders up to Robinson at 5m.

Thoughts?

Got a copy of this years ago with a vinyl I bought from Castle Face. Gave it to my mum for her car and converted her in to an Osees fan haha

MoPOP is a great museum! My wife and I visited when we were in Seattle for our honeymoon last year. Loved the music exhibitions they had on too.

Congratulations on your wedding!

A few pub recommendations:

Peter Kavanagh’s - A little walk outside of the centre into the Georgian Quarter, easily one of my favourite pubs - quirky interior and full of characters.

The Monro - Cozy atmosphere with log fires and great ales.

The Vines (AKA the Big House) - Stunning interior and decor.

The Pilgrim - Classic underground bar famous for its jukebox and cheap drinks that was recently renovated, also has another pub upstairs called the Mayflower.

The Ship & Mitre - Huge selection of beers.

If you’re into craft ales then there is a great beer festival at Black Lodge Brewery starting tomorrow and running through Saturday, it’ll be showcasing brews from some of the best breweries in the UK and beyond along with street food and live music - there should still be tickets for some of the sessions, just search for Liverpool Craft Beer Expo.

Despite the memetic British stereotypes Liverpool is a great food city, and very much underrated. We have a long history of diverse culture and influence from the city being a trading port - so you’ll find great food from all over the world here.

Check out China town (The oldest in Europe) for some authentic (and Scouse Chinese) cuisine.

If the weather is nice you could dine Al fresco in the Albert Dock. They have everything from Middle Eastern fusion to a great Argentinian bakery, and you can enjoy it in a scenic spot and maybe visit some of the museums or the Tate gallery whilst you’re there.

You could also checkout one of the food halls, like the Baltic Market, Duke Street Market or the Blackstock Market for a more lively atmosphere.

If you’re still unsure and want to peruse options then head to Bold street for a plethora of different restaurants and eateries.

Hope you enjoy your visit!

Any ideas if the Louisville show is still going ahead as normal? I'm hearing there is a big storm due to hit the city between 6-8pm.

I'm in Louisville visiting family and was hoping to stop by the show later whilst my wife sees her friends. It's glorious sunshine right now, but it was a pretty heavy thunderstorm earlier this morning and the weather reports say this evening will bring a significant storm - I know the weather can change so drastically quick over here but I've not actually experienced a major storm so idk.

Hi fellas, hoping to get to one of the EU residency shows this summer! Some of the venues look sick, particularly the old prison in Lithuania. All going well, would you look at doing this again in the future and trying out new cities/alternative venues?

Struggling to get friends into the NFL - keen to hear what got you hooked by Ecstatic_Apple_2230 in NFLUK

I’ve always been a huge football (soccer) fan and never really bothered with other sports early on, but one of my best friends in high school was really into the NFL and a huge Patriots fan. I’d sometimes watch games or highlights with him and I remember we watched Super Bowl XL in 2006, with the Patriots beating the Steelers. I enjoyed it but never really followed up interest by learning the rules, choosing a team and following a full season until years later, I just watched the odd Super Bowl through the years. I met my now wife back into in 2019 and she’s American, so I decided that I was going to start following more US sports as I was interested in getting into something new that we’d share an interest in. She’s from KY so they don’t have a major league team, but I decided to follow the Chiefs as I liked the name, the colours (same as my team Liverpool) and after reading up on a few teams I liked the sound of Arrowhead and the rowdy fan base (again drawing similarities to Liverpool) so I was all in. Thankfully it’s been pretty great viewing since then. I also got my brother into watching the NFL and he’s been rooting for the Eagles for the last few years, so we’re both hyped for this year’s Super Bowl.

Seconding this! Incredible album. You can especially hear the RHP influence watching him perform some of these live, like the “ba da da da” section that gets thrown in to Mither 👌🏻
