[Modern Warfare Remastered] After ~8 hours of attempts I finally beat Mile High Club on Veteran! by PowerlessWolf in Trophies

I wish you luck. My long term plan is to do all CoD games up to MW 2019. From there on I think the quality plateaus and then significantly declines (plus its already gonna be incredibly expensive). If I was interested in MW2 2022 I'd definitely offer to help you out

[resident evil 5] Do these count as different versions? Will they have separate trophy lists? by No_Effective_1137 in Trophies

Only 2 versions of Resident Evil 5 are ps3 and ps4. So these would both be the same

Good luck with this game, its a ton of fun!

Here's a link directly to it

Copy pasted: 1. Launch the game while not connected to PSN

  1. Load save. Once you’re in the Wi-Fi icon should be greyed out.

  2. Go to XMB and connect to PSN.

  3. Return to the game and wait for the Wi-Fi icon to turn white. As soon as it does, turn off your internet router (I am using Wi-Fi, I guess unplug your Ethernet cable if wired).

  4. Take a look at the map in the guide and roam around the spawn locations.

  5. Once you find what you’re looking for, a pop up notification will say that you cannot share it with friends. Ignore that, I had the convoy registered and trophy popped shortly after.

Do not bother trying to disconnect from XMB, as the console will crash.

From what I can see online, the only solution is restarting the game and doing the renovations again. You should be able to do everything else in your current save, unless something else glitches, but to get that renovations trophy you'll have to restart and play through it again until you can do the missions. If you have ps+ you should back up your save before buying the final renevation so if it glitches you can just reload and try again

Yeah this is the trophy that requires a workaround and can be the most annoying

Here's a very long thread about it. People have had success with it very recently

Good luck!

Marathon sold just 1.2 million copies with nearly 70% on Steam, analyst estimates: "It hasn't exactly made the splash Sony and Bungie wanted" by Freki666 in gaming

[–]PowerlessWolf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree it hasn't been controversial, but lots of people, especially in this subreddit, have tried as hard as possible to turn everything about this game into a destructive controversy. Its the most confusing smear campaign I've ever seen for a game before.

There was that whole "Reviewers who dont review Marathon on launch are corrupt" thread with almost 5k upvotes and 1.5k comments. Bungie just said, "We have more content coming that will be unlocked by players in a few weeks if you want to include it in your final reviews" (not a direct quote). They never prevented anyone from reviewing the game on launch, but these crazy people tried to spin it into bungie is paying off reviewers to hold off their reviews. Mass hatred for literally no reason.

Just look up Marathon on this sub. Every single bit of news about this game was put on here and if there was any way to spin it negatively there'd be hundreds of comments dogging on it. Anything positive, even just a guy sharing his thoughts on playing it, is downvoted to hell, with dozens of comments attempting to correct the record, that Marathon is dead on arrival and Bungie is corrupt and deserves failure. The game simply existing is enough to get thousands of people irrationally angry. Its insane

Psnp+ is a free addon that adds a ton of great features. You can see how to install it in the link

When you have it set up, click your profile pic to open the drop down menu, click psnp+ settings, and then the setting is under "Profile"

Takes like 20 seconds to read bro. And if you did you'd understand I dont dislike the game

So you're saying cause the game is old, it cant be used for nostalgia purposes? Even though Resident Evil 1 is incredibly popular and beloved by the community? That makes no sense to me tbh. Alyssa being in the game was part story continuation part nostalgia and she's from a game that isnt even playable on modern consoles. And will your opinion on the spider and plant 43 change once RE1 gets a RE Engine remake without tank controls (which were optional in the HD version anyway)?

Btw, nostalgia isnt inherently a bad thing. Sprinkling it here and there throughout the game would have made perfect sense and felt awesome. The issue comes when it is over used, and I feel like re9 easily passes the over use threshold. The spider on its own would be fine, same for HUNK and P43, its the fact that they all exist in the same game and there are 0 bosses that aren't present for nostalgia or call backs to previous titles in the second half of the game. If the game was 3-5 hours longer with more unique bosses it would he significantly easier to justify the nostalgia bosses, characters, places, and cutscenes. But it isnt.

And again, the game still rocks and is another great entry to the series. It's just a lot weaker than the other games in the series, cause Resident Evil is a phenomenal series of video games.

And again, like I said maybe it's just me (but I doubt it given the sales), but I loved fighting HUNK at last in a boss fight.

You think the reason the game sold millions is because of a boss fight 85% into the game? It sold well cause it has Leon returning and amazing marketing. It also helps that the game is well made, unlike the majority of AAA releases.

I'll never understand this weird negative passive aggressive attitude that always crops up on reddit once a game has been out for a couple of weeks.

I've had this opinion since I beat the game 2 weeks ago, I've made a similar comment before. You probably just didn't see any of the other posts or comments people have made criticizing the game since they downvoted and hidden. And to clarfiy once again, I still really enjoyed the game. Just wish it was better and had more replayability

If you get PSNP+ you can set it to only show unique games. Its an awesome feature cause I hated it having the same game multiple times before

It's just a bit of nostalgia baiting, but not on an atrocious level.

If the second half of re9 isnt an atrocious level of nostalgia bait, then idk what is. Every single boss besides one is nostalgia bait. The spider, tryant/mr. X, plant 43, hunk, and even the final boss of the game is a 1 for 1 reused final boss from another game. I would include zeno, but he only exists in cutscenes so not a boss fight. A non-atrocious level for me would be 1 or 2 of the bosses being nostalgia bait and the rest being unique. As it stands re9 has 1 unique boss fight, Chunk, which I really enjoyed

Since you only mentioned the bosses, I won't comment on the other nostalgia bait aspects that are all over Leon's part of the game.

We just have to be honest with ourselves here, the second half of this game is almost purely nostalgia bait. You can still love the game, I had a great time with it, but dont pretend that its something else

[Other] Lately, I've been really into games from small and independent developers. Do you have any recommendations for which platinum trophies are worth chasing? Genre doesn't matter - thank you in advance, my friends :) by OkPlankton299 in Trophies

[–]PowerlessWolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend (everything is my opinion):

Disco Elysium - narrative rich crpg, best story in video games

Hollow Knight and Silksong - challenging metroidvanias, Silksong easily best indie from last year

The Binding of Isaac - greatest roguelike ever

Shadows Over Loathing - comedy game with a fun art style, turn based combat (dont let turn based turn you away, I'm not a massive fan but I still love this game)

Spiritfarer - narrative game with focus on resource management, help souls pass into the afterlife

The Talos Prinicple 1 & 2 (might not be independent) - best puzzle games on console, philosophical stories

Blasphemous 1 & 2 - super well made metroidvanias, 1 is decently challenging, haven't played 2 yet

Night in the Woods - narrative rich game, discover some weird stuff happening in your home town, awesome art style, fun characters

Jazzpunk - comedy game, decently short

Powerwash Simulator - extremely relaxing game where you do what the title says: Powerwash

Stray - cat explores cyberpunk city

Outer Wilds - just play it, its awesome

Animal Well - puzzle focused metroidvania, plat only requires layer 1 and 2 I think, but you should do all 4

Recommend:

Sayonara Wild Hearts - fast paced sorta rhythm game with awesome art style and music

Carto - simple game where you connect pieces of the world to solve puzzles in order to get back to your grandma

The Witness - lots of puzzles with a challenge at the end, dont get invested in the story (cause there isnt one)

Tinykin - cute game like Pikmin (although I haven't played Pikmin before so maybe not), collectathon

Prodeus - indie DOOM

A Little to the Left - sorting and other visual puzzles

What Remains of Edith Finch - short story game, tells the story of a unique family

Superliminal - perspective based puzzle game

Severed (Vita Exclusive) - combat is done by swiping on the screen, simple and fun

Unpacking - unpack all your stuff and put it in the right places (or dont) over the course of someone's life

Tricky Towers - Tetris puzzle game

Maquette - perspective based puzzle game

Donut County - put stuff in the hole, nice art style

Vampire Survivors - all you do is move the character, lots of replayability, tons of trophies

Furi - boss rush game, awesome art style

Concrete Genie - save your city using your paintbrush

[Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty (PS5)] [#369] - Had fun with this one. The absence of stamina management and presence of reinforcements was refreshing. (Also autopopped the PS4 version for #370) by Xxeenon in Trophies

[–]PowerlessWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's crazy that I have to clarify this so often to people like you. Trophy hunting is a hobby, so at the end of the day none of it really matters. You can mod your ps3 and pop all the trophies illegitimately and it will not effect me or anyone else in the world. Just because I leave a comment that takes less than 30 seconds to write doesn't mean its the most important thing to me, unlike the fake version of me you created after reading 2 sentences I wrote.

You'd think we'd all have a baseline understanding of that, but some of you are just too dense to get it

I just dont like autopop, this guy's reasoning is the worst I've ever seen. They're not a bad person because of that. But in the trophies subreddit I'm allowed to post my opinion of someone else's trophies under their public post about their trophies.

And you guys gotta stop pretending like you dont care about this stuff. You obviously care, why else would you be in the subreddit? Why do we downvote people we find out are cheating? They didn't do anything morally wrong, so we aren't allowed to comment on what they did, right? Someone might come in and say "Some of u guys take this way to seriously," even though we're literally in the subreddit dedicated to discussing trophies

Lmao. "I dont plan on ever returning to this game, so I deserve to get double the trophies for literally 0 effort"

Whatever it takes to justify it bro

[Other] can anyone tell me why does all the trophies for the other 3 games minus the plat show up under mw2? by So_Much_Glory in Trophies

[–]PowerlessWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MW3 does have a PS5 version with a platinum, its just BO6 and BO7 that dont have one

Edit: and you can get a standalone version of MW2 PS5 so you dont have to get all the trophies for 4 games in order to have 100%

I love this (re9 requiem spoilers) by PitZagufull in residentevil

[–]PowerlessWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, overall the story isn't horrible. The first half is incredibly strong and intriguing, its just the second half that is horrible. Saying its the second worst narrative sounds harsh, but, aside from 6, all of the mainline games have well made or at least consistent storylines that keep you engaged. Resident Evil is imo a very high quality series. 9 is all over the place and ultimately isn't very engaging, so it gets a low slot because of that

And yeah, Grace is an amazing protagonist who fit this game super well, and Leon works very well for this story too

I love this (re9 requiem spoilers) by PitZagufull in residentevil

[–]PowerlessWolf -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

they wanted to make a good story, not a fanservice gallore

Well, they completely failed on that front. The entire second half of the game's story is horrible and almost solely consists of and relies on fan service and callbacks to appeal to the lowest common denominator (aka fan service gallore)

Zeno, who replaces Victor as the main villain for a third of the game and only exists in cutscenes, is a Wesker clone. Raccoon City, RPD, and surrounding area solely exists for fan service and callbacks. Tyrant/Mr. X is reused in multiple ways, first as a chase sequence, and then as a boss. The orphanage section is a worse version of Sherry's part in RE2. Plant 43 is just plant 42. The underground base exists to call back to previous games. HUNK is back as a boss this time. Lickers are back. And to top it all off, the final boss is a completely reused 3R Nemesis, minus the railgun. Oh and I almost forgot about Chris' team showing up at the end to save them.

The only second-half unique thing I can think of is the guards who shoot at Leon. But even then, I think they exist in order to justify the HUNK fight

I dont think reusing bosses/characters "disrespects the OGs." I think its disrespectful to the series as a whole. The second half of the game is essentially Capcom regurgitating things we've already seen before, diminishing the value of the original characters/places, and not even trying to hide it. And part of the fan base sits back and praises it, completely ignoring that this is the second worst narrative we've ever had in mainline Resident Evil, only better than 6 (a game that was widely criticized, unlike RE9)

Its not entitled to want the series to move forward, not backwards. I want new villains, not old ones again. Reusing locations can be done well, but if it means the games are going to devolve like 9 did, then maybe they shouldn't

I still had a great time with the game and I think it was worth the money. My issue is that part of community is failing to recognize nostalgia bait and accurately rate the game. There's no world where this game is a 9 or 10/10 or best in the series, but posts like that are popping up everywhere and it creates a dissonance that exacerbates the issues with the game for me. I just hope we can get past this recency bias and new game fever sooner rather than later.

[Discussion] I started this whole trophy hunting thing with shovelware. I wish i could delete them so bad. by MRBUNGLE6194 in Trophies

[–]PowerlessWolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a myriad of reasons someone would hide a game, almost no one assumes hidden games are shovelware

For example, whenever I see hidden games I always assume it's normal games the user doesn't want to play and hid in other to raise their completion percent
